Shoal Bass fishing GIANT SHOALS

My buddy Justin and I fish a large shoal section connected to the Chattahoochee River in search of aggressive Shoal Bass. We also catch Spotted Bass along the way and remove them when we catch them since they are invasive in the Chattahoochee River.

The Rebel wee craw and a white Rooster Tail have always been very productive lures there. The fishing is even better the further downstream you go.

I’ve gone far down one time and we caught a lot more spotted bass but we got bites!

I’m not certain you know how to identify the difference between a Shoal bass and a spotted bass because everything you keep calling a spotted bass has the markings of a shoals bass( white spot on gill plate and vertical black bars) You might want to educate yourself

Thank you Jeff, many of those were hybrids so they will have some of those shoal bass markings as well. it’s best to take hybrids out of rivers to promote pure populations

There are two very distinctive phenotypes of shoal bass and the one you thought was a hybrid is actually the most genetically clean specimen you pulled out of water 😂😂😂 that sucker is a stud pure bred shoal bass that’s no hybrid. Those are the markings of a clean Bartram’s and those suckers have gotten all sorts of out of their range as well as other fish have evolved into them.

Hey im afraid you've got your wires crossed. Bartrams bass are only found in the Savannah river drainage. They are a different species than shoal bass. Also, there's absolutely no way to tell without genetic analysis if that was a pure shoalie.
