That's GREAT that she says and wants that, however what she doesn't realize (and what happens in the music industry in general) is that her very sexualized image and music DOES influence young people, girls particularly, to act the same way she does even when they don't feel comfortable with it. It starts with the media over sexualizing women, and then women feel the need to show off their bodies foremost and be sexy, and then that influences younger people to be that way just to fit in and be "cool". So yes, her music and image totally does make girls feel like they have to be like her, and the other artists who promote what she promotes. I love Ariana always, but this is true of her and many other female artists who sing about sex and hooking up all the time. Especially with a song like side to side. I mean really? That's great for a young women, but why make it a single? Eww. Make something more inspiring for our youth and adults alike. I'm not a fan of Ariana's image anymore...

Jess okay finally someone who thinks the same as I do. But listen, artists (singers) can sing whatever they want to. They're growing up, experiencing things and love. They want to open up and sing what they mean. By which ariana, she wants to talk about female, and powerful things like love. Yes you're correct, young women is trying to be "cool" these days by showing off their bodies and being sexy which isn't healthy and cool. You know? But Ariana didn't mean to make young women feel this way, they are doing this by themselves. Not making them feel like they have to copy her. Ariana isn't that sexy like very on stage where you do very inappropriate things. Other celebs do but she doesn't do it that much. Young women do it cause they want to be cool, they might've gotten it by someone else. This century, there's so much access to things young people aren't supposed to see and know about at a certain age. But that's life. Yes singers all sing about sex, love, and those things. But there's other songs with a different meaning which isn't about love and sex. I am not hating you or anything. :-)
