It has an easy explanation. First, we produce a lot of food in the country. Anything from fruits and vegetables to meats, dairy, fish, cereals, nuts, etc. There are regions with different climates so we even grow tropical fruits. Then, food has a very reduced tax. This is so that even if your budget is small, you can still eat a healthy and varied diet.

Considering the fact that Carrefour is actually not a cheap chain, this is pretty good prices. (It's not an expensive chain, but most smaller food stores in Italy and Romania at least were cheaper than Carrefour.) I honestly expected Spain to be more expensive. Do you have videos that show more of what kind of food they sell? I am not a fan of cooking, and when I lived in Romania I was surprised to find how hard it was to find pre-made microwave meals, and those packs with sause in powder form you just mix with water. I am planning to live in Spain at some point, and it would be really useful to know what kind of food I will have to work with. (And what kind of snacks for that matter.) It gets extra tricky if you hate cooking AND want to eat healthy. Some countries (like Romania) mainly sell junk-food as pre-made food, while others (like Britain) have a selection of normal and even healthy food you can just microwave.
