To add some context here: in Russia there is a meme/conspiracy theory (actually both) that real Putin died long ago and we're looking at his multiple doubles that look slightly different. These doubles even have nicknames. So this whole situation has even funnier connotations here. Also his answer was pretty awkward and unnatural which reminded me of Zuckerberg's reaction to lizard jokes.

I think people will develop very soon methods, procedures and habits against that, like trusting only the official channels and such, social media will probably add rules regarding deep fakes etc. I don't think there's any danger to that. What I see as more problematic is that "video evidence" will further and further lose it's value in courts and investigations, lawyers will have more counter arguments against such "evidences", and criminals will get away with more.
