I love how open-minded this priest is. He doesn't even blink when Joey introduces Dr John Pretice as her fiance. He's not only civil to John, but he even also incredibly supportive of him and his career. Both he and Joey even admit he's out *her* league. Regardless, he sees how much Joey and John love each other and trusts they have what takes make the marriage work. It's so lovely to see someone so supportive of mixed race marriage at a time where you could go to jail for it. The man has a lot of God-driven courage and compassion. 😁🥰 He's definitely the *exact* opposite of Hilary.

And he’s also the opposite of many other people like I have known throughout my high school career as well as my folks, whom are definitely not okay with it. People like Monsignor Ryan seems like someone whom is very much warm and open-minded about what’s going on, regarding Joey and John, despite what others might say about them.
