This 23-kilometer stretch of roadway, a crucial part of the Southern Coastal Highway Improvement Project, was officially opened on **September 14, 2023**.

We used that toll road last year when I was out there to head down to Mandeville from Spanish Town area to see my God Daughter who was also visiting, when then went on to Little Ochi, amazing views of the Jamaica interior, so much untouched landscape and it cuts so much time out of the journey, the significant benefit of these new faster road going to the time saved, all good for a growing economy....

THE COST OF TRAVELING THE TOLL ROAD WAY IN JAMAICA, IS WAY MORE THAT CITIZENS PAY IN AMERICA, CANADA , UK, JAPAN, AND EVEN CHINA THAT BUILT SAID ROADS.

So, how is the high way going to maintain! Isn't there a cost to associate with such a venture as constant usage will see deterioration. Evidently you ate not aware or you can't make the connection as the prevailing discussion in the country is the poor condition of the roads and its due to no maintenance over the year. So imposing a toll means money will be available to do repairs and upgrades

​@@justtime2670Do u live in or outside Jamaica! Clearly if you live outside jamaica then you would not post that statement because if you know anything about toll roads and why tolls are imposed. Government either borrow money to build highways or use limited funds to build an highway as in the case of jamaica. Imposing a toll means you can investment in other capital projects or use the toll to maintain the highway. But you are not interested in these things but merely propagate a negative narrative. I am happy to see my country progress and that it didn't borrow no money to build this highway as that means no debt and that the government will not have to impose taxes as God knows we need to have a government that don't kill us with taxes
