I liked Luis Perez far more than Easton Stick. Something about Perez, being a pocket QB guy who was on point with his deep ball accuracy was very nice to see. Yes, most of them ended up incomplete, but that was not because of Perez, he constantly (for the few plays we got to see) through the ball in perfect position to be caught on those mid to deep passes.

Parham was always hurt and couldn’t block he was really just a receiver in a way that was only good in the red zone. Smartt is being loved by this staff because he is coming along really well with his blocking ability.

I might be an outlier here with this thought 💭 but… I think we’re overreacting and overthinking this QB2 thing. I mean, realistically NO team is safe and secure if their QB1 goes down. It’s not like Herbert is brittle and damaged goods. The causes of his injuries were because there was no OLine protection and no run game, PLUS Herbert never had a great defense to help him out either - those are all things that we’ve fixed. Now would it be great peace of mind to KNOW we have a solid QB2? Absolutely. I think EVERY team would love to have a starter-caliber-esque QB2, but that’s not really something that exists amongst the league. If Josh Allen, Lamar, Mahomes, Rodgers, etc. gets injured, THOSE teams aren’t gonna have the same success with their back up QBs. Do I want stick on the team ? No. But I’m also of the mindset Herbert will be ABSOLUTELY FINE. Again, he didn’t have plantar fasciitis, he had a plantar fascia injury - not quite the same thing; plus he already said he’s 100% again. Bolt fam, we’re gonna be good 👍🏼

I commented this on Michael Maclane's video as well, but if Easton Stick is being valued for his film room input, experience, and positional knowledge but can't deliver on the field I wonder if fairly soon we'll be seeing him retire and get hired as an assistant QBs coach for the Chargers. See how he slots into that role, and if it's a better fit.

He was often a lot last year but Allen was being thrown to… too many times… he also dropped a couple of Sure TDs… Moore was a predictable OC… No Running game… QJ will Be Great… he has the Talent and Physical Traits… the drop balls can be corrected… M. Williams didn’t get good until a 3 years after he was drafted…

I felt the same about Spiller, but I did mention back when we drafted him and the first interview he had, he did not sound excited at all as if he just didn't want to be in LA. He didn't say that, he said the right things, but how he said them and the look on his face of being drafted by the Chargers was a look of disappointment and I felt he never had his heart into it. You got to be available and preform all facets of your position. As far as running back goes I would bet the farm there not done there. Spiller looked straight up bad.
