Strange, maybe they updated the board for an SD card but still have old chassis in inventory to get through. That kind of thing can happen

It's a good try to use a 12025 PC case fan to cool down the turbo cooling fins.

THe absence of an SD card cutout is only on lower models. My Mini IT 13 has a cutout in the case.

We purchased'4 mini-PCs a couple of years ago (different brand). 2 of them failed within the warranty period - one with a motherboard issue and one with a faulty SSD drive. I wonder if there is a cooling issue with these. For sure I dont intend to purchase them in the future.

Coz Geekom has had the SD card slot for a long time, I think they just forgot to cut it out of the chassis.... :)

Intel scraped the NUC division about a year ago but make components for minipcs, just not their own.

@@theTechNotice no, they are trying to compete against NUCs. One runs windows/linux/hypervisors, the other only runs MacOS...not really a competition when the hardware can't run each other's OS.
