Here's my only concern with supporting the whole woke in a video game. My problem is that I'm in 83 baby. We didn't have any of that crap in our generation growing up and the fact that it's something that they're basically forcing upon us is unacceptable and I don't want to support the company because what's going to happen is it's going to continue then it'll be in everybody's game because they're going to see it as oh it's accepted. Look they love it. They bought it. It's sold great and that's not right. I don't think that politics has any place in gaming that shouldn't even be allowed. That should be illegal to be able to put that shit in gaming. But it is what it is. My other concern is come on really. You're going to add surgery to a transgender in a game like that's a little extreme. You know what if you were going to add something like that and you tell me hey look you know what you drink a potion and it changes you or whatever. And you really don't ever see it again or never really have to do with it again or whatever I could understand and that kind of makes sense. But that's not the case here. And we shouldn't support this type of shit. Because if we do what's going to happen is people are going to see at the developers are going to see it like hey Luigi enjoy this stuff. So we need to put it more in our games and I'm sorry but I don't care what anybody tells me but that whole non-binary crap I'm never going to accept ever. I'm 41 so thank God that I'm halfway into my life so I won't have to see too much of how bad the future is about to get. Because all this non-binary crap and all this all it's doing is ruining the future. People are having less kids. Our population is slowly diminishing and people don't realize it because of all this crap. Listen when we were growing up. You were either gay, lesbian or straight or bisexual. That's it this whole entire bullshit that I identify myself as this and that come on man. None of that. We all know that that's all bullshit. I understand that nobody's going to talk about it because when you deal with the public or what you do and everybody's going to hold their opinion to avoid losing fans to avoid losing users clicks all this other crap. So we're all going to hide what we really feel. But I know that people that grew up in my generation that grew up with your mama Joel's and Al Bundy and shit like that we were not sensitive. We were not overly sensitive. We didn't give a fuck and we still don't. That's why it bothers us so much when they're trying to shove this shit down her throats. That's my complaint and I already know people that are working on finding ways to mod it to remove all this non-binary crap out of the game making an option in the settings that if you want to turn it on to have it in your game, great. If not then it completely ignores it. And also what the hell did they do to these characters? Why is everybody a giant pussy? Everybody's like children the way they talk the way they act. Whatever happened to the darkness of dragon age. That's why there's such a rage. This is supposed to be a game about the end of the world. You know Gore blood you know they completed took it out. They basically did what they did to Saints row. They tried to force this non-binary non-gender bullshit on to us and they took a game that you're about gang members and shit like that and turned it into everybody. A giant pussy. No wonder it failed. That's how every game that forces this shit upon you should be. Every game should fail that way. They learned their lesson and stopped trying to force this shit upon us. They've already ruined TV. They've ruined entertainment in general. Movies are nowhere near as funny as they are because they have to be careful with what they say and who they insult and who they piss off. I'm tired of it bro. Like you can't even find anything that makes you laugh to the point where your ribs hurt anymore. There is no comedy like that. It's all dead and the developers and even movie directors and producers have said it. They have to be careful with what they say and who they insult and who basically starts crying. You know for their mama if they talk about him we grew up. We didn't give a fuck about any of that. It was funny and we knew the difference between entertainment and real life and it was not that serious. We laughed and we kept going with our lives and guess what? We didn't have nowhere near the amount of suicides that we have now in days so clearly that shit's not working , for a reason we weren't overly sensitive , we didn't have all the shootings etc. , that's what people don't understand why we scream so loud , what worked for centuries all of a sudden there trying to fix what was never broken .

I'm not "outraged." I simply disagree with the directors on how they chose to insert something that clearly did not need to be there. You can't name any game that has a story that is completely divorced from reality. Every single call of duty game involves something involving reality. The scenarios may be different but the concepts are the same. God of wars about fatherhood. Same thing with The last of Us. What I'm assuming you're getting at is real world things but the problem is someone being non-binary. Is it saying category of someone being gay or someone being straight? And you shouldn't have romance in them at all because that's a real world thing. In reality, we only care about things that we disagree with. If this was 20 years ago, a character being gay would have been the problem. Point is 20 years from now. People probably won't care too much if someone is non-binary. I just find it annoying that people don't realize that they're just repeating themselves over and over with them. Guess what at a certain point in time a black person being in your video game was a weird thing.

I have been playing for a while now and the game is pretty good in terms of performance and how it looks (via Geforce Now) besides the few "woke" things people are going mad about its a pretty good game so far. People need to learn to play the game first and then give your opinion, majority off comments are from people who didn't play it. Video game should be able to reflect any discussion that could happen in the real world and I’ve had this discussion in the real world so why can’t it be a video game? Mental illnesses, and video games, war is in video games. We’d be artificially holding back video games if we kept social issues out of it let them talk about it if they want. We don’t have to agree with it or even think it’s tasteful but it’s lame to want to box in the art form

People don't seem to realize that there are very few games that don't mirror reality in some aspect. If you ignore the whole god thing, God of War is a story about a person who wasn't ready to be a father having that thrust upon him on him having to deal with it. It just so happened that this very human and real scenarios happening in a setting where the character is a god. Only games that lack any kind of story can divorce themselves from reality completely. The game has a story about people or things that have human emotion. Something involving reality is going to be in it.

When it gets shoe-horned into a game during a time it didn't exist, that's when people take issue. Well in that logic, that's like playing Skyrim and in-game characters complaining about gas prices. Or playing The Witcher and Geralt taking an Uber to "fast travel" instead of his horse. If ANYTHING could be put into ANY game at ANY time, then there would be no separation or difference between historical fiction, sci-fi, fantasy or modern games. Misgendering is a Modern day social issue. It really should only be in modern day gaming.

I haven’t played it yet and honestly probably won’t. Nothing about it interests me. It looks generic af, combat looks generic af and all around looks like a snooze fest. From the moment I seen release trailers I thought it looked almost rushed and half baked and almost lik their was little to no passion put into the entire project Native 500p at 30fps!?! with upscaling is absolutely ridiculous optimization for a game that released Q4 2024. 15:27 So I think the best take is that it's hard. One of main issues here is that the people complaining (really us included) are in a bit of a bubble going around in circles. Speaking as someone who is in one of those marginalized groups, growing up having loved gaming was kinda hard. There was very little representation for just how I look like and once we first got customization options those were downright is how they presented them. The options available said a lot about how the devs think certain groups of people can or should look. People are complaining about "forced woke" dialogue now when before there were straight up offensive slurs and deragatory stereotypes. That's the reality of it. Gaming is an entertainment medium made by people. It's never been perfect and all the issues we deal with in society were always going to seep in. Often times people don't even think about how they write or create something might be offensive to others. What I do see as sad, is this intolerance to change and such strong negative push back with a desire for everything to be the same as it always was. I think it's more than valid to say devs and publishers are well off the mark in doing inclusivity and diversity well. However, the implication that these just weren't problems in the past shows just how little we've grown. In that sense it pisses me off because people still aren't acknowledging that media in the past was a mine field for minority and marginalized groups. That they still are. It's not just a matter of stuff not being inclusive with proper representations (though it does seriously hurt when you grow up and have to cope with that in your favorite entertainment medium you can count the number of iconic characters that look like you on your hands), but of them being downright offensive and perpetuating dangerous stereotypes. So I would say it's hard for old franchises and games to re-emerge and stay relevant in the modern age. I'd say it's even harder for them to grow. All that white male marketing and target marketing has worked. Most existing US gamers are in the cstegoy of people who never had to worry about representation and inclusivity.

The upscaling on Veilguard works very well. The image doesn't have that fuzziness that I have seen on other low internal rez games, so whatever frostbite is doing it's working.(my tv is an LG G4 for reference)

"Rising their social situation to the top of the heap of entertainment." This is how it always goes though? Our entertainment is how these social issues get pushed. Like Star Trek promoting the first interracial kiss. The Fonz challenging a "no-blacks allowed" diner. You bet your ass there were people bemoaning and crying about those things in the exact same way. I hope those examples also show how people don't need to be bigots to have these changes make them feel uncomfortable either. When the brain interacts with concepts that go against its programming of what reality is, cognitive dissonance steps in. It doesn't mean they are right to oppose it, just that it should be understandable. What is wrong though, are the claims that: "No one wants this", "Entertainment should be an escape", or "but it doesn't fit". Video games, movies, books, etc are art forms. They are art. Art is supposed to challenge you, make you feel and to bring the unexpected. There are billions of people on this planet, and our diversity of experience is why video games and art thrives. No one says you have to like this or purchase it. And we can be respectful of our opinions of sensitive topics when expressing both pleasure and displeasure. But hatred, aggression, intolerance, dismissal or worse of other's life and experiences to carve out our own safe spaces because of that unexpected dissonance is not healthy.
