I did some gardening this year, but this summer has been so hot and many of the veggies didn’t do so well. I’m planting for some fall veggies like lettuce, spinach and other greens this weekend. I'm also going to try some snow peas. The desert soil is mostly sand and I think when I amended the soil this year, it just wasn’t enough. Always learning! I just got a raised garden bed because it's getting more difficult to bend down and garden with my ailments. So that should be helpful, especially if I get a couple more raised beds. I'll see how it goes this fall. 😊Again, thanks so much for your lessons, your music, the sketches, the encouragement and everything! You are much appreciated! 💕😊

There is something very therapeutic about gardening I think. 😊 I didn’t plant any vegetables this year, but I do have some berry plants that produced this year…in my opinion there’s just nothing better than home grown raspberries!! 😋 Well, really anything homegrown I guess! lol! Yes, I accidentally got the music a little too quiet in this one! Sometimes people say that it’s too loud and annoying, so I tried making it a little quieter and ended up with it too quiet instead. 😅 It’s tricky to get just the right balance. 🤷‍♀️ I’m glad you enjoy my music though, that makes my day to hear! ❤️ Take care my friend.

I wish I just had a simple and easy answer for that one! 😅😉 A lot of the water amounts and water control really depend on what effects you’re wanting in your painting…how dark, how light, how blended, how smooth, etc….even the humidity and temperature of the area people live may potentially change the water amount people use because some hotter climates dry out the water faster. I think the best thing to do is just play around with different amounts of water, different waiting times, and different techniques to see what works best for you and is giving you the desired result. I wish I had a magic formula for you! But I believe with some practice, trial and error, you’ll figure out what you like to work with. Best of luck my friend!

This was painted on cold press. The trick to get the colors to bleed good when doing the wet on wet technique is just making sure there’s enough water put down initially to help the paint flow. It might help to just test this out a bit on a scrap paper to get an idea of how much h water you need to get the look you want. 🥰 Thanks for watching, I hope you have a great day!

I am noticing my paint colors are not coming out the same color as yours. Your Hookers green is much darker than mine and so is your Ultra-Marine Blue. I am using Holbein.

Yes, different paint brands do have slightly different hues to them even if they are called the same color. I am using the brand M. Graham & Co. if you’d ever like to give that a try. 🥰 (If you need to, you can also mix in just a touch of black to your paint color to darken it up just a little bit to get the look a little closer to mine.)

I believe you can just sign in as a “guest” rather than having an Etsy account. Every once in a while people don’t get an email with the download when they are signed in as a guest, I’m not sure why, but if that happens to you if you have trouble at all you can send me a message/contact me through Etsy and I will personally make sure you get what you ordered. Watercolor really does start with a good outline, and before you say I can't draw, buy yourself an inexpensive light tablet and trace pictures. Before you know it you won't need to trace things anymore because you will have learned how to draw. 😊

Can you talk more about the brushes? These look like they have a short belly on the brush? Maybe its just the video angle.

Here are some of the round brushes approximate bristle measurements: Size 3: 6-7 centimeters long, 3 cm wide Size 6: 16-17 cm long, 5 cm wide Size 10: 24 cm long, 8-9 cm wide The belly does seem to be a little short, but I think part of that is also due to the very pointy tips that they have. The bristles are very tapered which I personally love because I enjoy painting more detailed things…But that is a matter of preference though! So hopefully these measurements help a little bit. In a few weeks I will be doing a special unboxing video of these brushes and I’ll go into more details about them then. I’m excited to share more about them with you soon! 🥰 Take care.

Just to give a bit of clarity, I did not say this was an “easy” project, I said it’s “easier than it looks” because when you break this down into small steps it is actually doable and achievable where sometimes people take a glance, decide it’s too hard, and don’t even give it a try. I have a great following on my Facebook page where people show and post pictures of their artwork from following my tutorials… some of my hardest tutorials are re-recreated by even newbies and do actually turn out very well. I’d love for you to check it out so you can see for yourself. I really hope you’ll give this a try, you may be surprised by the results. ❤️ (As a side note also, I also think that it is unrealistic to expect people’s work to look exactly like mine. Even as a professional, I can paint the exact same picture over again and they will still look different from each other, so I feel you’re being a little hard on yourself (or others) to compare your work to a professional. All of our artwork will be individual and unique, that’s why it’s so great! 🥰)

Just a note I find doing Liesl's tutorial to be very helpful. I learn something new all the time, and I get a lot of helpful tips. I don't expect mine to look like hers, I want it to be me and my style. I feel the tutorials are to help us find that unique stlye. If I wanted it to look like Liesl's, I would purchase that particular piece of artwork. I hope your art improves, and in time it will. We are all on this journey together. I understand your feelings, but I don’t think it hurts or is unreasonable for me to occasionally be paid for my work. I put many many hours into creating these outlines as well as the tutorials, (this is after all my job,🥰 most people that I know don’t go to work every day for free…) I don’t make much profit from these outlines anyway because they are priced so low. However, I do have several drawing tutorials on my channel as well if you’d prefer something different. Take care.

If you look back on some of her videos, she does show you how to draw quite a few of her paintings. This is a simpler one and maybe you can watch one of her previous videos on how to draw the larger flowers that she has there. I just take a screen shot of her drawing bring it up on tablet or computer screen and trace it from there. Easy peasy. I'm retired with money restraints as well so I understand. Best of luck 😊
