In 1980 my mom bought me a Millennium Falcon at a yard sale. It was missing a training ball and the smuggler compartment cover. She wrote a letter to Kenner and told them we had a Falcon where the ball and hatch were lost. Kenner sent replacements to us at no cost. It made me the happiest kid ever to have a complete Falcon! And I went on to ask for about every Star Wars toy they made and probably got at least half of them. So it was a smart move on their part; made alot more money in the long run! You certainly don't get that level of service from Hasbro today!

That was fun. I worked at a collectables store in the 90's that was family owned since the 1950's. The owner brought in a case fresh of Star Wars Empire Stricks Back figures that was still factory sealed. He knew I was a big Star Wars fans and he wanted me to open it and see what I could get for them? He had it in his closet since 1980. It was 1996 and the hype was really growing at that point with the Power of the Force line hitting stores. I could sit and talk toys all day every day if I could. I miss working there dealing in toys and getting paid for it is the best! Bobby you're killing it brother! And Ryan is a really cool dude. Really enjoy both of what you guys do. Keep up the great work bro!

Kenner sent me a "We Care" letter because I ordered like thirteen survival accessories packs and four 4-Loms and they said they were short on product and would mail the rest later. I got the letter and one accessory pack and they never sent the rest. I corresponded with them for a few years and it eventually turned into phone calls and they always promised to send the rest and they never did. I threw the letters out when I found them stuck in an old phone book. Wish I would have kept them.

Ryan and Toy Fed got me into this game. I don't collect toys but I am obsessed with his channel. Him and the boys are so wholesome and run a great shop. I was born in 87 and was poor so I never got any good toys, so I live vicariously through the shop and youtube. They show the toy shows, back room deals, the parking lot deals, I love ALL OF IT. Such a cool subculture. I recently found this guys channels sorry I don't know your name, but I can tell you love this stuff as much as Ryan, so I'm in. Your channel is more polished which to me feels "fake" but after watching this and you guys talk, I have subscribed. The thing with Toy Fed is that it is fly on the wall, no polish, it's perfect. I didn't even mention the buisness aspect of actually running a Toy store, and refusing to sell on eBay to "keep the hunt alive". It's like Pawn Stars but without assholes running the show. They deserve all the success as well as you my friend! Thanks for taking the time to share this. I know youtube and the algorithm forces you to make the videos you do and that is exactly what made me write you off as "fake/too polished" which sucks. Keep putting up cool Toy stuff and I will be here for it. I want more videos of you talking about your time in the industry, with your old drawings designs etc.

Speaking of paperwork, back in the day i could never find Storm Shadow. On a whim i wrote Hasbro, they sent me a letter saying he was $5( joes were like 2.99 back then). Mom sent them a check and it came air mail. Probably should have kept that letter, Mom might have sent it with the payment.

My family would never have thought of doing that when I was a kid. The 84 Joes were the only time in the line that I can recall there being a few guys that were super hard and rare to find in the stores. Stormshadow, Mutt and Junkyard, Firefly, and to a lesser extent Blow Torch and Spirit in that order were really hard to locate. I was I. 4th grade at the time. There was this short red haired kid that was really good at sports, and toys were sort of secondary to him. His dad worked construction (may have owned the business, they were well off) and was in Albany NY all week for work (we lived just outside of Catskills about 35 miles south). That kid’s dad would get him a one of these new hard to find Joes every week. He would bring em in, show em to us, and I don’t know if he ever would pick the figures up again. He never played Joes with us at recess, at birthday parties etc out of school, never joined in when we played with Joes. I was mainly getting figures from local department stores and even a local Rite Aid drug store. The Rite Aid actually put out a decent amount of joes for a drug store with one half aisle for toys. I am pretty sure this was in the fall too. Thanks, your memories just transported me back in time to the fall of 84 for a few minutes. Magical time as a kid!

This was a great listen. Nacelle potentially making Exo squad toys is news to me. very interested, And I love the power of the force 2 figures. They strike a balance between detailed collectible and playable toy that I retreat to when the current vintage collection gets too dull. If you want to keep the cost down on a valaverse mech suit you don't have to build a full cockpit. Kind of shame to cram a detailed figure in there where your not going see it anyway. A robot with a motorcycle seat and handles so a figure can drive it from on top would be my suggestion. Mcfarlane was going to make a mech suit in the titanfall line 2 line of BT-7274 and they had to take the scrap the cockpit idea and just make a robot action figure with a pilot that sits up on the shoulder. Its still a highly sought after piece despite the limitations.
