I was diagnosed with stage 1 cancer in early December 22. By the end of February I had received surgery and a short course of radiotherapy. I then nursed my husband through a total knee replacement and we both flew to Australia to see our son and his family in June and I’m older than Charles. Cancer is no longer the death sentence it was and given His Majesty's excellent lifestyle I’m sure he’ll be back in no time. I wish him and all cancer patients the very best.

Yes. 4 yrs ago I survived Stage 4 metastasised Ovarian cancer. Major surgery 10 hrs. Hospital for 2 months, chemo for 1 year and I’m doing brilliantly. I think King Charles is very resilient and will get through this.

I come from a family of five and have never had any signs of cancer. However, I've lost the rest of my family to cancer, as well as many cousins, aunts and uncles living overseas. My husband died from cancer and one of the things the doctor told us was to limit his outside activities going to strange places where he might have to use the restroom or meet strangers because while. you are used to the germs in your own surroundings, germs in other surroundings can be quite virulent on your body in it’s weakened state. so I do hope the king will be extremely careful.

King Charles is still performing Constitutional duties and light work at home while undergoing treatment. He'll still be able to make decisions .take calls, meet with the PM, (even if by zoom). An oncologist yesterday was optimistic about the King making a complete recovery, he might be bounce back quickly and belie all the negative naysayers.,

@@suej9329 I was watching a video a couple of days ago about a new form of treatment for many cancers, it can be carried out at home - so no tiring hospital visits - and doesn't have all the harmful side effects of chemo. It is promising to be a game changer in the fight against cancers and with luck it will also be one that can be used in whatever form the King has meaning he will feel a lot better during the treatment than he would with chemo. The video was about whether it is suitable to use with children as well as adults and it sounded rather exciting.

If it is at an early stage, then that is good news. Too many are burying him and not focusing on Charles getting better. Also the King is going to show concern for those suffering with cancer and their family. Ignore the Sussexes They are who they are and won't charge.

As someone who suffers from cancer, just last week I was thinking. “How come world leaders never get cancer?” I wish the King the absolute best. I am from America and I was thinking back to all of the world leaders from the past 50 years and it is very rare to see one with cancer. If I am correct, they hinted that the Queen suffered from bone cancer the last few years of her life. Again, I wish King Charles and his family all the best.

I think Rebecca English makes a good point. It's not up to the public to forgive Harry. It is up to King Charles whether he forgives his son. I hope this can be a time for Harry to offer comfort to his father. I have no doubt that the King will be strong and tolerate his cancer treatments. It may be more difficult for him to step back from some of his daily duties and learn to pace himself. He has a fantastic work ethic, but that determination now needs to be laser focused on his health and well being. He is fortunate to have the finest doctors and family/friends who will keep his spirits high. I wish the King (and The Princess of Wales) a full and speedy recovery.

As a cancer survivor it will be the side effects from the treatment that will dictate how much one can do. Prince William has prepared his whole life to step in and do his duty unlike his brother, and I wouldn't be surprised if Princess Catherine is out and about sooner than first announced. As far as Harry is concerned,it takes cancer for Harry to get on a plane to see his father,that does not make him a good son,he still did what he did and is who he is. And lets not forget his grandmother was elderly and only a few years away from passing on when he was pressuring her to get what he and Meghan wanted,the half in half out deal. They have a movie deal and an "unscripted series" in the works which sounds like a reality show of some kind. Cynical me hopes he doesn't use this moment to manipulate his father into letting him back into the Royal fold. Hopefully Harry can just keep quiet after his visit.

And it depends on the treatment. The BBC did a programme the other day - it's on KZbin - about a new drug that is replacing chemotherapy, enables the person to be treated at home and does far far less harm to the non cancerous parts than Chemo does (a very interesting video actually, they are now testing it to see if it is suitable for children as well as adults) and looks to be a game changer in the cancer battle.
