I used the turtle wax hybrid ceramic spray coating as a sealant after detailing my car last summer, it has easily lasted all year and its still working after 1 year. Picked up the hybrid solutions wash and wax to top it off a few months ago, and it boosted its effect back up to freshly detailed standards, between these two products i'm super duper happy and they are VERY cost efficient.

@@KiranPatel-fk1pg My question, as well. Not knocking the product, or Ray's comment, I'm just a bit cornfused as to how that would work... But, their base product line is spectacular.

I'm really glad to see CarPro CQuartz UK 3.0 is still arguably one of the best bangs for the buck. I topped mine with Gliss, but have not done anything by way of testing durability. I just assume I'll need to reapply in 1-2 years, realistically. What's really surprising is how cost effective and yet high performing the Gyeon lineup is.
@maineeackkilla

So just a question shouldn’t the ones that lasted longer than their claim get a better rating for durability? Like the 303 3 months but still there nearly 6 months in?
@LuisNY
@LuisNY 3 жыл бұрын
I also think the pointing system is not accurate... But over or under performance should not count on the pointing system... A true result would be the lowest cost per application and how many times it needs to be applied to protect the paint for 12 months, easy of use must also consider how many times it needed to be applied for that 1 year protection.
@project.jericho
@project.jericho 3 жыл бұрын

@@project.jericho understandable, that is your video and your opinion... But not everyone will always look to buy the best available, especially in a overcrowded market where the best product may be marginally better than the second, 5x more expensive and almost impossible to apply properly.... With this amount of good products the majority of consumers will likely want to buy the best bang for the buck....

I am a big fan on the Cancoat, here in Australia the product is reasonably priced and it last 9-12m. Ie after 9m in the summer heat and rain you will be able to spot weak points. It goes on very well and is newbie friendly. Definitely recommend for anyone who wants to have a play with lite versions of the coatings. Out of interest, in the video body, you gave it a 10/10 however on Excel in the beginning of the video it only scores 3/10?

I personally use the 303 spray coating as more of a ceramic coating. The application seems to go smoother if you treat it as such and use an application sponge. I also use Mothers ceramic wash additive in my snow foam gun and I gotta say that combo is fantastic. After 6 months the 303 was still behaving like it was new on the upper half of the car but the lower portion of the car was a little less hydrophobic. I’ve reapplied another layer of 303 and will be using Q2M wet coat every month after every second wash to see if that helps keep the coating more intact.

Turtle Wax hybrid ceramic is some tough stuff. Coated my daughter's car 1.7 years ago (multiple coats) and it's still holding up. Bizarre.

Where my problem with tests like this is what you see with CQuartz and CSL. The absolute beating some panels take more than others. I’d be interested to see a vehicle with CQuartz and CSL pitted like this straight up. One half in CQuartz and the other side CSL. I’m also disappointed to not see TW Ceramic spray here. With two coats, it lasted 8 months of winter. I’m really impressed with it.

I have a question on what would be the best for me to use. I am a college student going to grad school and I will have to leave my truck at home for extended times. I'm not sure when I will be able to come back to wash and wax it. What do you think I should use? I have detailed vehicles for quite a few years and have done paint correction on numerous cars. I have never used a ceramic coat before though. I just need something to help protect the paint from UV rays and any contaminants.

GTechniq holding it down! Not surprised. I Have CSL topped with ExoV4 and after 2 years it is still performing amazingly. To be fair CarPro reload is more designed to be used as an occasional topper to refresh a long-term coating underneath, I wouldn't use it as a stand alone protectant.

Is megs hybrid ceramic spray on the next set? I've been happy with it since launch, and their other hybrid products even though newer, seem to have less longevity but a touch easier to use. Id love to see any of their hybrid products on the next set though :) Thanks!

I applied Griots 3in1 to my Explorer last fall. First time using it. Went through one Midwest winter with occasional wash. Earlier this spring I did a full detail and I would say it was still holding up. Easily a 4-6 month product. I also agree application is very easy......and it smells good too.

I use Griots products, clay bar with spray on wax, turns a rough surface smooth as glass. Do this once per year along with the annual wash, year later still beads. Have found washing is harder on paint surface than not washing, detergents and tap water are a paint surface enemy. Gives old Fred more time to fool around.

From what I have seen on the Scott H channel, your better off using another product. Can coat or Griot's 3 in 1 spray wax even holds up way better.

@@SnakeDoctor5104 unfortunately I’ve already put it on months ago. I’ll let it wear down some more before polishing it off to apply a different brand. I have about 3 months on it now and it still is strong on the upper portions. Lower portions it is most certainly weak though. Can’t complain much I got it at 35 or 40 a bottle

I use Nu Finish. I don't wash my car often, nor is there much rain here in Arizona. So, for $8 bucks, it's not bad, and I get about 5 months before I see a need to re-apply.

Shouldn't the products that required a second coat be double the price per oz since you have use twice as much. Price per application is more important than price per oz.
