I am a big fan on the Cancoat, here in Australia the product is reasonably priced and it last 9-12m. Ie after 9m in the summer heat and rain you will be able to spot weak points. It goes on very well and is newbie friendly. Definitely recommend for anyone who wants to have a play with lite versions of the coatings. Out of interest, in the video body, you gave it a 10/10 however on Excel in the beginning of the video it only scores 3/10?

Tec582 monthly is the best performing product I've ever used... it takes 10 mins to do the whole car, and a $40 gallon can last you probably 5 years used that way... doesnt have the curing time like Beadmaker and is less finnicky to apply... I used to do the same thing with Megs Synthetic Xpress Wax which also worked great, but Tec582 is just a bit better

@LuisNY
@LuisNY 3 жыл бұрын
I also think the pointing system is not accurate... But over or under performance should not count on the pointing system... A true result would be the lowest cost per application and how many times it needs to be applied to protect the paint for 12 months, easy of use must also consider how many times it needed to be applied for that 1 year protection.
@project.jericho
@project.jericho 3 жыл бұрын

@@project.jericho understandable, that is your video and your opinion... But not everyone will always look to buy the best available, especially in a overcrowded market where the best product may be marginally better than the second, 5x more expensive and almost impossible to apply properly.... With this amount of good products the majority of consumers will likely want to buy the best bang for the buck....

I used the turtle wax hybrid ceramic spray coating as a sealant after detailing my car last summer, it has easily lasted all year and its still working after 1 year. Good comparison. I'll have to check out your other videos. I'm looking for a long-term wax / polish. { I'm a professional driver , getting my vehicle washed each day - more than 1 / day if need-be. }

Hard to ding a product when you don't use it right. Also if this is your daily driver, not all panels are going to be exposed to the same amount of the elements.

I don't get, you have areas on car and windshield where droplets remain and claim its doing its job? Obvious sign of hydrophilic, which is bad and leaves spotting when 5he water drys. Then other areas where the water sheets off the area, hydrophobic (repelling the water), and you claim this is bad. You literally can see through the upper right part of the windshield and have droplets in every other part of the windshield, obscuring vision. It's obvious the other sections of the windshield benefitted from the swiping of the upper right product being swiped into the other quadrants, and you don't even get it. Your understanding of the results seems like a fail. If you have ever stained a deck, you understand you have to stain the horizontal parts every 2-3 years and the vertical parts every 4-6 years due to the UV rays. Comparing durability of combined vertical and horizontal surfaces is a fail. Your applying of scores does not seem to be all that scientific. I'm not buying a gallon of product, so giving a great score on that price is silly. Your weighting seems arbitrary. As a consumer, I hate working and want to protect my investment. One could say I might pay more if the durability (less applications per year, less work, more protection) far outweighs price per ounce. Some product may even cover better than others, giving more applications per ouce. A Cost per Year would be much more appropriate as it takes into consideration ounces per application, price per ounce, and durability (needed applications per year). Ease of use is subjective and should probably be the least weighted as it should be a simple scale (irritating=-1, no issues=0, easy=1). I would certainly use a product that needed to be applied 2x/year but was needed a little more effort and a few more bucks, then a product that was easy to apply, was cheaper, but had to be applied every month. My time is valuable. In summary, I think your test, scoring and results need to be redone. JMHO.

Is megs hybrid ceramic spray on the next set? I've been happy with it since launch, and their other hybrid products even though newer, seem to have less longevity but a touch easier to use. Id love to see any of their hybrid products on the next set though :) Thanks!

This strange, I’ve used ceramic slam for two years now and it’s been BY FAR the easiest coating I’ve ever used. Much easier that regular wax or any of the spray on ceramics I’ve tried. Just wipe it on, wait 5 mins, it wipes off with almost no effort. Very surprised.

I've seen a couple of your videos now where you hate F11. My understanding of F11 is that its meant to be reapplied and even become a replacement for car washes so it builds up over time. Its not a one time application product like in your test according to F11 manufacturer. Just curious your opinion/thoughts on that??

There's no excuse for any of the short term products to have a low ease of use score. If it's hard to apply, it darn well better last for YEARS, otherwise the customer has to throw their money away paying professionals hundreds of dollars to apply it on a regular basis!

I use Griots products, clay bar with spray on wax, turns a rough surface smooth as glass. Do this once per year along with the annual wash, year later still beads. Have found washing is harder on paint surface than not washing, detergents and tap water are a paint surface enemy. Gives old Fred more time to fool around.

I am not a detailer. I am looking for a happy homeowner ceramic coating. I don't have a problem with cleaning ,clay baring the car/truck both white. It is confusing when looking at ceramic/graphene coatings. How can they warranty up to 10 years? what coating do you suggest for a someone who wants the longest protection possible?

all the detailing industries and their promoters uses water beading as durability and protection test. It just not logical, what about dust attracting smearing after few days of apllication? These products will still bead but the other problems are not included in the test, i seriously dont look for water beads, it only rains 3 days a year where i live and lots of dusts and humidity (desert area). All these years and no single products suits my conditions. No hate, but starting to know detailing business more and more and kinda drifting away from it and using soap and water and when the paint fades a little give it a polish once every 6 months. PERIOD

The Collinite was not applied correctly. It's a fantastic wax. If applied correctly, it's very easy on and off, and water beads off my car for a year plus. I learned about it from an old detailer more than two decades ago and have been using it ever since.

I applied Griots 3in1 to my Explorer last fall. First time using it. Went through one Midwest winter with occasional wash. Earlier this spring I did a full detail and I would say it was still holding up. Easily a 4-6 month product. I also agree application is very easy......and it smells good too.
