Total respect to this guard. She kept calm while maneuvering the horse back into the box. Then without spooking the horse any more than it was, retrieved her stirrup. Yes ladies, gentlemen and children, the horse will come towards you, if YOU are in IT'S way. Too bad you have to be told multiple times, to GET BACK.

I think Horse Guards should be closed to all tourists. I’m sick of protesting groups with their banners, idiot who think it’s a petting zoo. Or start charging people to attend, if they misbehave have them clean out the horses box then attend the 4pm parade & stand at attention straight & no moving if they do move the duty Captain orders them to clean out the horses box .

I have no doubt that horses are actually selective about the individuals they want to keep around them. Some tourists such as those who keep horses at home must have certain air of horse-lovers and are easily accepted by the King's Guard horses. That said, I believe this security zone, by keeping out the uncivilised/rude ones, manages to ensure peace of mind for both the horse and the guard, reducing their stress level.
