Minute 3:99 very nice. When Jesus was executed, he was a young man.The difficult thing about the shroud to recognize is that Jesus has white hair and a white beard. His face was bruised like a boxer's, the nose cartilage bent by the scourging and blows, perhaps the nasal bone broken.

@@beverlyhurd8556 It's about the positive photo of the Shroud of Turin! The shroud shows a blurred portrait of a crucified man, probably Jesus. We only ever see this positive photo because it makes the face easier to recognize. So we see the image of a man with white hair and beard and this has an effect on the subconscious and it is therefore difficult to imagine what Jesus looked like with dark hair and beard. The same applies to the eyes, which according to science must have been injured because you can hardly see one eye. He had many swellings on his face, according to science. It is well known that Jesus was scourged by the Romans before his crucifixion. All the more difficult to create a natural portrait of him. Respect for the artist!

It would do you good to remember that it was *proven* by many dozens of doctors, scientists, archeologists, and other highly trained researchers and *tens of thousands of hours* of examinations that the Shroud most definitely wrapped the body of a severely beaten, scourged and crucified man that was wearing a crown or cap of thorns when he died. Very few people out there, other than atheists, are quite dumb enough to believe that this was someone other than Jesus Christ.

Did they compare the flax to other area's in Europe? It's just that they said the limestone dust was close to a match in Jerusalem & Israel but later, other scientists found out that they only did that one comparison. Later it was tested against other European nation's & the closest result was in Spain. It's always bothered me that Scientists, who are committed Christians, can be economical with the truth because of their faith.

The Bible nowhere gives a physical description of what Jesus looked like during His incarnation. The closest thing we get to a description is in Isaiah 53:2b, “He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to Him, nothing in His appearance that we should desire Him.” All this tells us is that Jesus’ appearance was just like any other man's - He was ordinary-looking. Isaiah was here prophesying that the coming suffering Servant would arise in lowly conditions and wear none of the usual emblems of royalty, making His true identity visible only to the discerning eye of faith. Isaiah further describes the appearance of Christ as He would appear as He was being scourged prior to His crucifixion. “His appearance was so disfigured beyond that of any man and his form marred beyond human likeness” (Isaiah 52:14). These words describe the inhuman cruelty He suffered to the point that He no longer looked like a human being (Matthew 26:67; 27:30; John 19:3). His appearance was so awful that people looked at Him in astonishment. Most of the images we have of Jesus today are probably not accurate. Jesus was a Jew, so He likely had dark skin, dark eyes, and dark hair. This is a far cry from the European/Caucasian Jesus in most modern portrayals. One thing is clear: if it were important for us to know what He really did look like, Matthew, Peter and John, who spent three years with Him, would certainly be able to give us an accurate description, as would His own brothers, James and Jude. Yet, these New Testament writers offer no details about His physical attributes.

It’s not really a graven image as no one on Earth could do this by hand 2000 years ago if you really think about it fits the description said by Matthew 27:59 59 And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, Joseph was one of Jesus Disciples a rich man from Arimathæa .Graven image literally means an Idol in which we make carved out of wood which can be easily done with a sharp object , Stone like Mecca 🕋 or Greeks pantheons statues , and metal like the Golden Calf like what Moses people built to Worship

That particular study, that was done in the 1980's, was on a piece of the cloth that had been repaired from fire in the 1500's. They retested the cloth using a section that hadn't been repaired in 2023. It dated back to the first century.
