Of course, they’re preparing for micro transactions and battle passes. Yet, we’re all supposed to pretend to be so excited about these changes and the inane “rewards events” that’s forced into the game like m@lware. The game is so broken, why are they refreshing lots when there’s a whole Gallery where one can download hundreds of refreshed lots - instead of fixing things that new DLC patches broke such as fishing in Sulani and the littering and festivals issues in San Myshuno.

Every time I recover from an update there's another one and I have to go through the whole process over again I've barely progressed in the last 2 years of playing because of this every time I have to redo so much I end up just starting a new save hoping that before the next thing breaks it I can get it all together and get all my Lots back the way that I want them and all my people back the way that I want them it's quite frustrating. I wish they would let the people that make the mods know and coordinate with them so that this doesn't happen or at least so that the impact is not so devastating it takes me weeks to recover and get my game back in order.

I just wish it could be like Minecraft where ppl kind of stick to whatever version they prefer. The Minecraft community modders sometimes just keep their mods at 1.12 or 1.16 even though the latest version is 1.21. It’s easy to play whichever version you want to and you can have multiple versions at once with different mods. But of course you can’t just stick to a certain Sims version cause they 1: have too many damn bugs to fix and 2: are constantly releasing copious amounts of DLC and need updates to support them. I haven’t bought DLC in a few years but I absolutely love mods so I’m team “stop touching the game EA, just let the modders have it”. An unpopular team, but can you imagine what modders could do if they weren’t being interrupted by updates? Remember that open world mod by Arnie a couple years ago? What if it never broke and he and others could just expand on it. The community would probably be less active if TS4 “ended” but TS3 & 2 still have dedicated fan bases

That would be great if we got a banking system in the sims. We could get a real inheritance system, get mortgages, personal loans, credit cards, only be paid on Fridays, etc.

While I would have liked to see the base game starters updated too just because they now stick out real bad next to the BFFs house, but like… they’re starter homes. They’re meant to need working on so eh. I’m just amazed they updated any of the houses period. But like.. whoever did those updated builds done snapped.

Glad I’m not a youtuber, staying away from any updates until mods catch up. To Offline mode I go. I changed all my basegame lots in my savefile, but glad the fresh base experience is improved for others. I don’t hate the new main menu overall or the new builds, but not worth ruining what I have.

(Let’s express our requests constructively; despite the huge amount of money spent on this game, I’ll do it in a polite way) Refresh of the packs - just like it was with the "Spa Day" expansion. It would definitely be worth it for "Outdoor Retreat" to gain new lots to explore and the ability to swim in and on lakes (e.g., with boats). Meanwhile, "Dine Out" needs improvement, and many fans want the ability for restaurant owners to also cook, serve as waiters, or handle cleaning. "Vampires" deserve a mysterious lot in their environment - it’s almost a crime that their world doesn't have a secret hideout for vampires. That’s definitely an untapped potential. "Parenthood" should be combined with "Growing Together," because it’s just an unfunny joke that they are separate. A music expansion pack, which fans have been asking for years - the career of a singer, who creates music, performs concerts, and releases albums, is a true dream. The ability to create music stages, organize competitions, or form bands would be elements that could significantly enrich the game. Improvement of environments and the introduction of "rabbit holes" - this would definitely be a better solution than empty cardboard boxes or building mockups. For example, in a university town with a beautiful old town, it would be great to have bakeries, restaurants, and cafes, which could be "rabbit holes" - functional places, rather than empty, characterless mockups. Cars and other vehicles - introducing new means of transportation, transport fees, which could become an integral part of the Sims’ lives. Fixing bugs - fixing all technical issues and bugs. "My Wedding Stories" - NO COMMENT! Pack prices - there are so many now that anyone who wants to catch up on the entire collection has to spend a fortune. Why not reduce these prices? Thank you for going through the homes! I know I wasn't going to have the patience to do it. They look nice. Mixed feelings about the menu change. I guess I wish it wasn't the blue color, but it seems less cluttered. Also I never noticed that behind the Sims were always only 7 minutes, I thought they were longer for some reason.

Honestly, the new main menu screen is so much better. I refused to use overrides for it even though I hated how *in your face* it was with the news, recommended packs, etc. I kinda like the fact your sims can greet you when you load the game. Maybe it’s just because I’m an Overwatch player, so I’m used to my menus being left side. But ooooh man are these updates townie builds nice. I have some critiques, but they feel more lived in than their original versions. The down side is now the neighboring vacant houses look even worse. I do foresee a lot of “refurnishing X family house” incoming. I will also say, these updated builds are not giving me Default EA build energy. I was amazed. I do think the smaller builds benefitted most from the update. Ophelia Villa is probably my least favorite, and Cypress Terrace might be my second least favorite… But these are massive upgrades though.

Unsolicited opinions: The Landgraabs new house is incredible. The first thing I do on each new save is replace their house. You could tell they were meant to have a pool and now they have the house they deserve. I am not sure if I like the Caliente house though, I liked their little courtyard out front. In my rotational save the roomies house is long gone but I might have to add it in because its now slightly useable like some changes need to be made but I might have zoe patel move in there again with her family.... Johnny pancakes sad trailer is too nice for him lol he is a little trash guy but I do appreciate his gnomes being all over the house. THE GOTHS. I love their cemetary the sims 2 and 3 had their graveyards (I don't think I remember it in the sims). BFF household is always one of my favs but there isn't room for liberty lees rocket she needs for her aspiration (my headcannon is its her families house or her house cause she has the biggest room). The pancakes house isn't as soulless as it used to be and I am not sure if I like that or not. The basement makes it seem less like they are shooting towards divorce and sleeping in separate rooms its just he likes his own space. You could argue cause bob is a chef and has weird work hours he needs to sleep separate so he isn't woken in the day. Spencer Kim Lewis household is so much better, and look! Grandpa isn't sleeping in the garden. They still have the spare room for the extra grandparent who which I like a little bit of lore in my sims . -end scene

No doubt about it, for PC gamers withs mods, this is just another mod breaking update. Why not just update items that really need it? For example a swatch editor and new Sims voices would have been a welcome update.

I both love and hate updates like these. I think these builds look very sleek and nice but a part of my brain wants to go in and start another new game and update all the lots and some townies. I'm not a builder, gallery is my crutch but I see so much pretty stuff and the ideas flood out. not to mention adding in all the extra stuff I have from mods and CC...Lemme go prep a sim to help me rebuild the whole sim world. I might just make a Niecy Nash sim and make sims for all the cast of her show clean house and just take on any building that needs updating.

I’m not excited about the new menu and the now seemingly permanent “reward events” that’s forced into every save file with no option to opt out. The game is being set up for micro transactions and battle passes. And I don’t see the point of them “refreshing” lots in the game when the Gallery exists. There are so many features in packs that I’ve paid for that are broken. Every update for new DLC breaks something else in the game that they don’t fix. And yet, we’re supposed to be excited about rubbish changes like these.
