Raila's mind focused on the AU position and he had no choice but to join Ruto. One of the questions that he was to be asked is, "how do you want to unite Africa when you can't unite your own country". Then he'll use this chance to explain how he came in and calmed down the gen-z's when Kenya was burning, and that is a bonus to him as far as the AUC is concerned. So in one way or the other he had no choice. But he took advantage of the situation and joined the government.
