I’ve been a Christian (gentile) since I was 7 years old, for 42 years now! I’ve had a very good Biblical education. I had many Jewish friends growing up, and have always loved the Jewish people. Becoming involved with One for Israel’s mission and listening to the teachings from the podcast has helped me to place my role as a Christian in the history of the world and God’s people more accurately. Our whole family was blessed to follow One for Israel’s Passover guide this past Easter. It was so special. I followed it by re-reading the Acts of the Apostles and I cried throughout it. When I read of the *very Jewish* disciples coming to understand that the gospel was for the gentiles, too, and then being faithful to carry it to them, I was so humbled and grateful. I had always known that the gospel was for “the Jew first, then the gentile” but without Jewish believers in our churches, we miss part of our history. And am now even more eager to see the Jewish people redeemed and happy to partner with One for Israel!

Something that came to me whole listening. Josephs " prophetic" cup was found in Benjamin's sack among the grain(harvest), Benjamin actually being the only one innocent of what happened to Joseph. HI Great dissertation on ' The Seed' and its travel through the lives of men . I also just want to point out that the story of Joseph PARALLELS that of Yeshua in so many ways. He was sent ahead for their redemption. He was the suffering servant and at the end of it he said to his reconciled brothers ' You meant it for evil but YHWH meant it for good' and that is what the Messiah Yeshua will say to repentant Israel as well when Zechariah 12 occurs. Awesome! Son of Josef the suffering messiah. The life of the Messiah was prefigured by Joseph, the son of Jacob, in Genesis.9 As Joseph was betrayed by his Jewish brothers into the hands of Gentiles and God turned that betrayal around and made it the means for all Israel and all the world to be saved, so too Jesus was betrayed by His Jewish brothers into Gentile hands with the same - but more cosmic - result. Joseph was betrayed by his brother Yehuda (Judah) for twenty pieces of silver. Jesus, the son of Joseph, was also betrayed specifically by Yehuda (Judas) for thirty pieces of silver.10 Joseph and Jesus were both condemned with two criminals - one of whom lived while the other died.11 Joseph was taken from a place of condemnation to a place of exaltation - after a three-day interval - as was Jesus in His resurrection.12 Upon his exaltation, every knee bowed to Joseph as every knee shall one day bow to Jesus.13 Upon his exaltation, Joseph took a Gentile bride - as does Jesus as the Bridegroom. @@susanbrooks5792 The 144,000 are 12,000 from each tribe- not just the Jews (they are 1tribe=Judah) When we came out of Egypt, the strangers and foreigners were as one of the tribe! The 144,000 are those that follow Yahushua wherever he goes- they are virgin males (as it says in the scriptures) Hope this helps, as we wait for the day of the second exodus, which will be so much greater than the first 😊

It shone with the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal [which is odd since when is jasper clear as crystal? Yeah, there’s more to that as well.]. It had a great, high wall WITH TWELVE GATES, AND WITH TWELVE ANGELS AT THE GATES. On the gates were written the names of the twelve tribes of Israel. There were three gates on the east, three on the north, three on the south and three on the west.” (Revelation 21:9-13, 1984 NIV) Thus, sometimes a gate is just a gate when shown ‘places’ in heaven. However, the study on the ladder was terrific. But again, sometimes a ladder is just a ladder or a stairway is just a stairway. The question to ask is was the dream symbolic or like a night vision? Or was it a flat-out open vision instead of a dream or instead of a closed vision or was the person actually experiencing these things in person or in the Spirit? However sometimes, as was the case with Jacob, it’s both a vision and a dream and part symbolic and part literal. God is often multidimensional in what He is saying, giving many levels of understanding as a person grows in Him and in understanding. Also there’s more to the Tower of Babel story though I really enjoyed the tie in to the gate and ladder. It seems to me, as I have written in my Bible’s enlarged margins, that the people of that time were trying to enter the realm where heaven/paradise exists in something like another dimension apart from being redeemed with a type of portal or kind of like a star gate. These people (Moses and maybe one other) who wrote this story it seems were trying to explain highly technological inventions to what became simple minded people after the judgment of their technology was turned against them. It caused them something like a stroke since language confusion is often caused by them. I know a woman who was a 4.0 GPA graduate student of physics who figured out the whole new language her father-in-law spoke after his stroke. She was genius. Just my take. That being said, your study was almost verbatim of what I had written in my Bible again in the enlarged margins about the way I read the situation between Judah and his sacrificial heart vs. Joseph and his righteousness and even about Joseph, Jesus’ adopted dad, making Jesus the Son of Joseph in a sense, too, attributing both self sacrifice AND Jesus’ own righteousness to recognize the character of Messiah. To me, it was just a sweetness of God to remember Jacob’s son Joseph after all he and Jacob had been through. Along these same lines, the way Judah did not offer up the lives of his sons in exchange for Benjamin’s safety, like Reuben did, but instead offered himself up was a huge highlight to me as well. God was not looking for a man to offer up others as sacrifices, but himself. Note in the story, however, that Judah intervened and actually saved Joseph’s life: His other brothers were just going to kill Joseph. So Judah suggested selling Joseph in order to give him a chance at life...it seems to me in case God decided to intervene if in fact Joseph was telling the truth about his dreams and God really was behind the ordeal since he was his brother after all (Genesis 37:26-27). Though Judah, like Reuben, was ruled for a short time by his base nature, his golden heart came shining through after he was corrected.

This was a nice study to come by. I know the story of Joseph, I know Christ came from the line of Judah. I have forgotten concerning Judah and his family. You enticed yet another study. Grateful. I am amazed at how there is always things that are new in the book that is a lifetime study. Living Word. Oh how I love it, and God's Chosen people. God's love for His creation portrayed through His relationship with the Children of Israel. We are all guilty we all needed a Savior. God covered all those who choose to be His through the sacrifice of His Own flesh and blood. Amazing commentary! Also, when you think about it. It also shows that God the Father loves us so much too. Especially since the Father draws us...in short, He chose us, elected us to give us to Jesus as His bride. And Jesus out of His love for the Father and us, sacrificed Himself to save us. That's why the Father loves Jesus. Unlike the first Adam, God gave Eve to Adam, but Adam threw Eve under the bus. And blamed God for his sin, because God gave him Eve who tempted him. Jesus not only didn't sin, but offered His life to save "His Eve". God bless
