All Campers have their own Individual Problems, Maybe Airstream has the Least but they are not Cheap compared to others. Just a year ago, my wife and I started looking at 34 ft. and larger Campers to Park at my daughters Mtn. Home Site. We looked at many different Brands, some were better than others but they all had problems that I could easily see. Anyone looking for a Camper must Research the Brand and the Dealer...

As soon as the dealer says their paperwork was incorrect, you should walk away, its a ploy that relies on over excitement to agree to pay more money, typical dealer ploy, In the UK we know that build quality is awful, you buy a leisure vehicle knowing they have been assemble but not finished, something we pretty much accept, our fiver had many issues that we had to repair, but it is easier to sort it yourself than rely on the dealer to fix, they ust fob you off and lie to you.

Three months of ownership of our new wildcat 262 I still don’t have keys for my underfloor storage compartments. I still have four water leaks. I have a leaky window, and now we’re having issues with frozen black water tanks and massive mold everywhere, even though we’re running several containers of dry and two dehumidifiers, and this is an Oregon. Zero response from the manufacturer through their website zero response to a direct message to the KZbin channel for the brand manager for the factory zero response from the dealer. I’m also not even confident the trailer that was delivered was actually the trailer we did the walk-through on. They had two on their lot. They said one was for a repair, but I swear I checked a few details like the fact that the sink was stainless steel and all specifications said it was but the trailer we received via delivery does not have a stainless steel sink and there are other little things like that.

We looked at super C at camping world. We walked, then salesman called me screaming at me because I walked. Insulted us. They could never start it without jumping it. Etc. High pressure rude and would never ever go to a camping world again . If something does not feel right run don't walk don't sign under pressure. Unfortunately the small family owned business are gobbled up by these huge companies. I sold rv' s for a family, dealership and things have really went down hill since then. Honesty was more important than a sale.

Years ago I thought Jayco was a good product. In 2001 we bought a 1996 Jayco Designer Series Class C motorhome from the original owner. It was a great rig, well put together and we really liked it. In 2007 we fell in love with the look of the Jayco Super C and thinking how good the first Jayco was purchased the new one. Sorry to say it turned out to be a very poorly built rig. Some of it was poor construction quality some of it poor design. After two years we gave up hassling with it and sold it at a big loss. For the next several years we had a nice used Holiday Rambler Class A that was a great rig. In 2017 we decided to downsize some and for whatever reason, short memory I guess, settled on a new Jayco Whitehawk trailer. Whitin a couple of months we had a serious structural issue with the floor construction that turned into a tug of war between the dealer me and Jayco. I found that this had been, in my opinion, a design issue that for several years Jayco had not delt with. The dealer was hesitant to tackle the repair saying Jayco only paid them for about half the shop time that it took to make the repair/upgrade. The dealer wanted us to take it to the Jayco Factory for the repair. Hauling it 2000 miles to the factory was not an option for me. The Jayco reps gave me alot of lip service telling me to take it to my dealer and that they (Jayco) would work with me on it. They would never give me any specifics as to what they would do and would never put anything in writing. After 18 months of this mess we sold the trailer, at a loss (again) I told the individual we sold it to the issue and he said he was well versed in RV construction and did the repairs/upgrade himself. After that last go around with Jayco I will never touch another one of their products.

Never ever, ever take possession of a rv until they have done a complete walkthrough with water and electricity hooked up. Makes sure all appliances work the a/c’s work the furnace the hot water heater including tankless and one touch leveling. Run slides in and out. Walk the roof. At that point you will not have any issues.. also know it will drop 50% when you pull it off the lot. Also ask that dealer if you bring it back the next day how much they will give you for it $$? Use your brain!

Look, Buyer Beware. Had "done deal" with my car 3x...and the paperwork still wasnt right. Took hours to buy because I kept re-reading, and rechecking for warranty & add-ons. In the end, I said, we either get this included or I'm walking to xyz dealer who *will* make the deal. Done. Tedious, treacherous, but triumphant for those willing to fight! The greatest power you have is walking away. Take the paperwork and walk...sit at home, re-read, familiarize, spend $200 for an attorney to explain it. There's 12 Toyota dealers in my city, dont settle on just 1 to make a deal.

I bought from Zoomers in Indiana. I negotiated a delivery as I was going to stay in the camper while house hunting. When it was delivered many of the amenities had been removed, such as the solar controller, solar battery, swing out grill that were clearly listed on the flyer. It was near winter so I missed some of those things, but I asked about the swing out grill almost immediately and they promised but never delivered. What a shame, they came highly recommended and claimed to have completed an extremely thorough inspection. An electrical fire and a ruined floor due to a leak proves otherwise.

We bought a Redwood 5th wheel in 2018. We have purchased numerous RVs from them so while they had to handle repairs they weren’t the problem. The manufacturer was the problem. The first thing that happened was it didn’t come with what we ordered. The refrigerator came damaged so they had to fix that, the crown molding fell off the wall, the wall panels were coming off , the inverter for the fridge broke, the theatre seats didn’t work, then the one window leaked which was repaired twice but damaged the wall which was never replaced. I was furious so I called the manufacturer and was told that the window leaking was our fault. Customer service was terrible. Now we had just moved in, the 5th wheel was brand new and it was our fault. At this point I was ready to drive to Indiana and just drop the thing off. The dealer came out so many times. At this point we were living in our 5th wheel as this is our home. Why are these RVs not inspected. I just was frustrated and wanted someone to take responsibility. At least apologize and say we’ll take care of the problems. We love the 5th wheel but the manufacturer at that time was terrible.

Alan, he’s like most of us. We have a camper we are not happy with, it has issues, so with a conscious, we’d have a hard time selling it to someone else. My only saving grace would be I could give them a really nice, after market warranty. I found one that you can get all mobile service and up to $500 service charge for mobile. Mine doesn’t have the major issues of some, but they’re still crappy quality construction. I’m sick of their stock answer, “these things shake, rattle, and roll Jerry” They break, you have to fix things. My response is, “I bought this to enjoy in retirement. Constantly having to fix these things, use it, take it back to the dealer, every time we use it, back to the dealer.

I think the only solution to buying an RV from a franchise is to have an attorney read your agreement before you sign it and esp. if the franchise wants to redo it. Second lesson seems to be, go and get the RV yourself. There was another story out there of someone else driving the RV to their home and it was a mess. If the techs knew the ac was installed incorrectly, they should have taken care of it before selling it. What is the point of having techs there notice things wrong but do nothing about it? Or sell it as an 'as is' used or damaged RV. It's scary.

My experience with that particular camping world was much better. We put a deposit on a MH from Forest River and asked that specific things be repaired prior to taking delivery including damage from delivery, computer re-programming from Mercedes for the seat settings not allowing full recline (since they start out as half chassis expecting box trucks), and some other minor things and put a time frame on it since we had a trip planned and the timing would allow enough leeway. All paperwork was ready, just PDI and handing them a check. They were not able to meet the timeframe, and the salesman tried to tell me that they didn't agree to that. Called the manager the next day and he not only gave us our deposit back, but a free year membership and extra 10% off and said the salesman is no longer with them. We did not buy a coach from them, but always stop on the way through to do our camping world shopping. The moral of the story is RV's normally are not repaired before they are sold with factory defects as the factory prefers to do those repairs under the clock (warranty period). Also, of all of the RV shows I have been to, the price is for the one at the show knowing it will be walked through and why they offer good show discounts. Never trust a salesperson or purchase at a show. Also, anyone who does their homework these days knows you should do an inspection by an independent RVIA inspector. You would not buy a house without an inspection, why an RV? Delivery. Apparently this gentleman was not there to take delivery otherwise, he would have stopped him before he made the mistakes going into the property. I would have given an address of where to meet the driver as we always do when having a truck delivery coming onto the property. I would also make sure I or a member of my family was present anytime someone was out there to work on the RV - PERIOD unless you drop it off with them or drop it off at the factory. Most of his issues are do to the manufacture and they are all terrible at quality right now with the exception of some of the independent brands like Brinkley and then many of the issues with better or higher end examples of the big three (Thor, Winnebago, Forest River) the issues are with the components installed that are warranted by the manufactures of those components (like Lippert frames, etc.). This guy needs to put most of the blame on himself as he had the power to correct MOST of this before HIS trailer left the lot and did his PDI at Camping World.

A sucker is born every minute. CW absolutely has built a business on the backs (wallets) of these buyers. This guy absolutely is the poster child. To not get an inspection and not triple check the product, VIN and cross T and dot the I. Is pure sucker ready to get flushed down the toilet. These fools cannot be helped, they will lose money in real estate, insurance and cars it does not matter. If this guy can get this far and not know " buyer beware". He deserves the loss, sadly. CW needs these people, warren Buffet gets rich stripping these suckers of their money, sorry but this guy is wrong and did this to himself as soon as he signed and paid. Sorry ❤

He did NOT deserve to be cheated; no one does. He negotiated well up front. But he was defrauded despite what was contacted. Despite that, he's held their feet to the fire the whole time. It's getting tiresome to hear these people say I would have done more research. Bottom line is as with any purchase you should know what you are buying...people financing and buying RVs and just say deliver it or get ramrodded through delivery without making sure everything is hooked up and working, I'm sorry no pity for them...let alone getting an inspection...funny how these people find you after making uninformed choices. I wish you would make videos with people who did research of the unit they bought, the manufacturer, and the dealer. Surely there are some people out there doing the smart, right thing.

This gentleman still didn't give sound things what a person should do different....inspect, do reviews , consumer report, better business, independent inspection prior to buying , keep all paperwork original and any updated paperwork, civil suite not small claim court means nothing, compare compare compare models

@ralphp3057 I no longer watch Liz the drama queen! But I thought it was on this very show, or another like it. Very common theme.

@ Much too often common theme ! I also believe most problems fall on the consumer!!

@@ralphp3057 yes the consumer should accept responsibility. Number one issue is buyers thinking rvs are sold like cars. They do not know because unless they follow a you Tuber about this... Doing their research on the manufacturer does not help because the website for manufacturer is probably correct. But we do not go to new car shows to buy cars. We look online those models that interest us either by brand or type. I learned all this originally by listening to Lehtos Law then the Wingman when he was a rv park owner. I would have never known, and have been lucky with my rv purchases... When the purchase goes well there is no worries. The problem I think is manufacturers controlling dealers, it's their name on the line. But because there is no controls they just sell to sell to dealers.

Not the 1st time I heard Jayco had a bad reputation with customers getting issues fixed. Like I've said in the other comment you have to do your research because of what I've learned about jayco I would never buy their product. I've also come to the conclusion because of the RV wingman that if it's made in Indiana I'm not buying it. To me there's a reason they do it in Indiana It's because they know they're selling us garbage. That puts me in a hard place finding an RV considering how many from the industry go out of Indiana That's some scary stuff there folks. You have to ask yourself why they do it and why they don't have faith in their products. 🫤
