We stayed overnight in an Ohio rest stop this past summer, and it was great. The spot was nice, and each one had electric and water hookups. There was one dump station for all the spots but we didn't need to use it. It was great to be able to use our AC. We joked we would travel anywhere as long as you could get there on the Ohio Turnpike. 😅

We love winter camping, as long as we travel with the understanding that "we'll get there when we get there". Plus, we can park at the secondary parking lot in Flagstaff (AZ), which is literally right next to the lifts for their green slopes and bunny hill (which can be reached by their more advanced trails. So lunch, heat, and dry socks are just waiting at the bottom of your run!

We've lived in Ohio and gone through many toll booths with RVs and never thought they were that bad. They're narrow intentionally to force people to drive slow.

Loved the video and we LOVE going to the Mothership. They do phenomenal work! We were back there in February trying to take advantage of the winter rates. Not so sure we will do that again. Boondocked in Bowling Green KY at a Cabela's and it was 3°. Next morning driving to Nappanee we hit a high of 9°. That night at the Mothership it was -3° with about 4 to 6 inches of snow on the ground. Had to use a broom handle to poke down through the snow to find the edges of the pad 😂 Don't think we will try that again even though everyone assured us it was a freak weather event for that time of the year. But we still enjoyed our stay! We did change it up and found a great Airbnb really close so they could keep the coach inside due to the extreme temps. That turned out to be a good plan.

Stayed in the RV overnight area on 80 in Ohio. Loved it. It was clean and was far enough from road way to be great for sleeping.

We stop at the Ohio Service area every time we travel to Nappanee…only bad thing is you have to unhook the toad. Also you need to have exact amount to park there, a $20 bill 5:48

I can empathize with your side mirror incident. Several years ago, I wiped-out my passenger side mirror going through a tollbooth on the Indiana Turnpike! I drove home using the blind spot mirror on that side. I was also driving a Baystar.

That pancake house used to be a Bob Evans restaurant and it was very popular for years, and then it shut down and then sat empty for many years until recently when it reopened as a pancake house. Very odd that it shut down because it was always busy. We live in Goshen and own a Newmar Mountain Aire. In the winter it stays in our heated shop. We dont travel in winter if we can help it, if we did it be southern parts. Izzy the best thing you ever did for me was turn me on to mast service center in Etna Green. Those guys are the best! I never take my coach to Newmar. I do all my own service and what i cant handle i take to Mast. Also one day Indiana will switch to open road tolls like the rest of the country is doing, in the meantime always try to use the right most lanes. I never lost a mirror but i know others that have. Scuffed tires is the worst ive done. Sometimes i want to get out and grease the sides first😅

Loved Elkhart, Shipshewana, the whole Indiana experience. The Dutch buffet was our favorite restaurant. Cleanest state we've ever seen. The horse droppings were just an added charm.😊

I live in Elkhart. Have had several jobs in the RV industry. I’ve been an airline pilot for the last 25 years so when I’m home I want to take the animals if I’m traveling. We take the dogs and the cats in the class A and actually see the country. Newmar is an awesome coach. I have an old Fleetwood (96) American Tradition. It has a lot of issues but it’s a fun continuous project.

I discovered the RV spots on the Ohio turnpike several years ago. They seem to be at every other rest area. Some are full hookups others have a dump station. I haven't used them very often but have always found a spot when I need one even in the summer.

We just went camping for a week in Surfside Beach, just south of Myrtle Beach, SC last week. I will NEVER camp in the winter at the beach!! It was so dang cold!! We about froze our buns off! 🥶🥶🥶 Between the cold and windchill, it was in the low 20’s a few mornings!! And this was in South Carolina!! WTH??? Ohio Turnpike rest areas are very convenient. You can just drive backwards though to the pumps everyone does. I was just by Nemar on Tuesday, I was up in Wakarsua seeing my new rv getting painted.

If you ever do the East Coast there are some really nice parks to hit. Janes Island (if you like kayaking and fishing). Very clean, quiet. Assateague island (but can be very rough for newbies) best time is late September - October. Cherrystone, Beth Page, Frontier Town, Cape Henlopen are all really nice places.

New places to shop and eat is one of the best things about the RV life. Why drive to anouther part of the country and eat at the same chain restaurants. We have found some great places. When in a new area and out exploring I like to ask some of the local people , Where would you go for lunch/supper to eat well. Like you found out up there the people who live there know the good places.

That place is allot more of a hassle when you have yours dogs. Nappanee does have an awesome dog park. We have been there in January and I agree I don’t recommend it. This is definitely the best place for service if you have a Newmar coach.

The rest of the country should follow Ohio's lead, what a great idea, overnight RV parking at rest stops with electrical hookups! But I guess they can't do much about the cold, brrr! Those pancakes looked wonderful, love blueberry pancakes smothered in maple syrup! Izzy will have his hands full washing Nellie when you get back home, can't imagine washing the coach in winter!

I just put up a baby tree and a medium tree that is in. Right now trying to get my tank rods fixed and can't find nobody. I pulled out black tank rod and it broke then I tried opening gray tank just as I was starting to pull it broke so gray is now full and no way to empty it.😂😂
