I am a former beachbody coach, I went to their quarterly meetings they had in town, team calls, the summit, etc. I will never forget that they used this story of a women who just had 2 kids then got diagnosed with cancer. She still did beachbody, the workouts, the invites, drank shakeology. They took pictures of her in the hospital bed with a laptop sending invites. The poor women looked exhausted. In the end because of beachbody she was able to pay all her medical bills. That was the story that "inspired" me to keep going. How many cancer patients that will never make money out of this business will they get to spend the last dollar with that same story? Fuck beachbody bro.

One of the top Beachbody coaches is literally the biggest snake I’ve ever met. She tried so hard to recruit me years ago (sending me countless cold messages, literally daily) and when I told her I have Lupus and other illnesses so it just wasn’t something I could commit to, she literally said “well if you don’t change that mindset, you’re going to continue being sick! Let me know when you get sick enough to want to do something about it!” I unfriended her immediately after that.

I was in beachbody for almost 4 years. This is exactly how every team call goes. A lot of times I would open up to my upline coach about my struggles and then we’d get on a team call and I always felt like her rants were targeted at me because we just talked about those things personally. It was damaging and I started to believe I was absolute trash. So damn glad I’m away from that toxicity!!!

This makes me so angry to hear because when my abusive ex left, I was inundated with "hey girl" messages. Never heard of MLM before, but I declined because I had 4 days to come up with rent to keep the apartment for me and my toddler + infant. I pitched local businesses and wrote content for them. It wasn't hard, and I could sleep. And I didn't have to manipulate people. I'm so done with people taking advantage of women in abusive relationships, who have cancer or autoimmune diseases, or who lack confidence. 😤 Also, if she's making 7 figures (which I doubt), but she has other streams of income. When I worked at a YMCA, we were planning to implement a fitness program for cancer survivors, and a HUGE part of that was the intake process, where a trainer would determine if someone was ready to be a participant, and how best to help them personally. Trainers were specifically certified to run the program - you couldn't just funnel everybody into a one-size-fits-all system run by just anybody. This whole situation is just a huge YIKES from me

I have 6 employees I genuinely care for, and if God forbid someone's grandma, or dog died, or they were going through a bad breakup or had a family emergency, or whatever, like any other decent human, I'd give em the time they'd need. My former neighbor had a tribe of children. Seriously like 8+ kids, she was very vocal about homeschooling (her kids were awful they cursed and beat the crap out of each other). She kept mentioning she works from home and she’s a wealthy small business owner and travels all over. I just didn’t care so I never asked what she did for a living I just tried to avoid her unless I had to pull her wild kids off of my children. She never tried to pitch anything to me. Turns out “her business” was Beach Body. Sad, truly sad. The cursing, encouragement to lie and overall behavior is just cringey and disgusting.

Actually I used to work at a grocery store and we were trained to push a rewards card on every single customer who came through our line. If we didn’t do it because we just wanted pleasant interactions with customers, we’d be shamed daily by managers. I also used to work at target and we’d have daily meetings where managers would talk about sales goals and build us up or tear us down based on how we were doing. It took me years to stop feeling bad and start just doing my job the way I felt comfortable, but it also meant I’d be stuck at minimum wage forever. Sales jobs are sales jobs. The only difference with an MLM is that the upline is completely dependent on their downline so shaming and guilt tripping their team is the ONLY way to make money, rather than being a piece of a larger puzzle, so it’s exaggerated.

Lalala123 my boss in an elderly home was a bully, changing schedule like crazy you came in early because that was your shift and saw it changed to evening shift. I was ill and they found my blood pressure to low so had to rest and take medicine. But didn’t rest went back to work because we where understaffed. He dearest to call me lazy and not enjoyable. So had that for a week before my annual holiday, the day before I was so angry I went into office he didn’t had a separate office so our head of team was there and nurse he was yelling because I asked more protective gear considering we had a patient with transmitting illness. So I boiled over told him he didn’t had any medical training and was given this nursing home from daddy and I was fed up with his childish behavior, and being rude to the patients that some where very disabled due to illnesses and brain damage. That the only thing he was worried about was his paycheck and I wasn’t planning to give my damm hard work for a system to provide activities to he’s but ass licking nurse that took my place for that course. He demanded excuses I told him very rudely he should show more respect to the elderly and to us for his behavior and it’s his turn to excuses given to all of us. Turned around leaving him godsmacked at his desk throwing the door close behind me, and saw my colleagues sitting in the dining room we had to share with patients mouth open I said well thank you all for backing me up like you told and eat patients need their medical staff. Told my husband and in-laws about it and he’s gone fire me because of it. He was never faster with paperwork than then. I found out at the same time I was pregnant and that was the cause my blood pressure had dropped and had a bleeding so lost probably one of the twins due to stress at work and having to carry heavy people on my own and being punched by a stressed out patient that had a bad moment.

Next thing I know she friend requested me, and started emailing me about joining. Very nice person but I didn't realize it was a MLM until that moment.
