Crap???...are you sure? I've owned two for the past two years. No trouble and no service. The solar system and Powerwalls allow me to charge the vehicles for free. Perhaps you get free maintenance and gasoline where you live.

There's very little demand for EVs. The majority of people can't afford them and prefer gas-powered vehicles which, themselves, are too expensive.

23K sold versus how many gasoline F-150's in the same timeframe? Overpriced truck that cannot haul look at Fast Lane on KZbin they did a tow of a 6000lbs sled and had to stop to charge after only 100 miles, vs a diesel, gas, and hybrid. Everything other than the EV still had tons of range.

Great video. I think Ford’s EV decline had more to do with quality assurance than being an EV. Ford’s multiple recalls and failures had people passing on their vehicles more than any other reason. Reliability was TERRIBLE. They also blew the Lightning’s marketing. They set themselves up for failure with such a lazy and dishonest marketing strategy.

In mid 2022 Ford CEO Jim Farley took a jab at Elon Musk by stating "We're really on a mission at Ford to lead a digital and electrical revolution for the many not few. And I have to say the shining light for us at Ford is this beautiful Lightning made right down the road at Dearborn the leader of all EV pickup trucks in the industry." And then goes on to say "Take that Elon Musk." Well, it just so happens that statement has come back to haunt Farley big time. As of 2nd quarter 2024 the Cybertruck has outsold the Lighting and in Q3 the gap widen even further. In fact the Cybertruck is now the 3rd best selling EV vehicle in the U.S. behind the Model 3 and Model Y. Ford Lightning had more than 2 years head start on the Cybertruck, yet now less than a year in from when Cybertruck started production it's eating Ford's lunch. On top of that as of Tesla's Q3 earnings report Tesla reported they are now making profits on each Cybertruck sold. Ford has yet to make any profit on any EV they sell. In fact, Ford is still losing thousands on each EV they sell coming off the assembly line, including their "shining light" Lightning. And it's not because of weakening demand in the EV market as Ford would want you to believe, it's weakening demand for the Lightning not the EV truck market since the Cybertruck is selling just fine even as Tesla ramps up production for it and it's now $20,000 less expensive on top of that which will accelerate demand even further. No matter how you spin it Ford is in big trouble with it's electrification plans. In 2023, Ford Model e (the name of their electrical division) reported a full-year EBIT loss of $4.7 billion on sales of 116,000 EVs, or an average of $40,525 per vehicle. The loss for 2024 is expected to be even higher than that. They need to pull a rabbit out of their hat soon because they can't continue to sustain losses like that. "Temporarily" stopping production won't solve their problems since they need to increase production to reach economies of scale and become profitable. Let's see what happens and hopefully are able to pull a rabbit out of their hat.
