Another fun show, I'm intrigued by the square and the center finder, but I would need some kind of finder to find the pins.... 'cause I know I'll find a way to hide them on myself. Have a great weekend and thanks for the video. By the way, looking at your cousins I'm amazed how normal you turned out....

Totally agree with you on those pins! I actually had a really hard time finding my DFM pin. It was at the bottom of a drawer. They really need to make like an onboard storage for them with a magnet.! Thanks as always for watching Pat!

Hey Dogg - the go helper stuff is impressive. I do like and appreciate their value proposition. I’d like a tutorial on the framing square in a video - I’ve never fully understood all of their markings and applications. Additionally, I’ve seen little brass knobs that are for use on a framing square and I have no idea how those work either! Good job.
@FlynndoggWoodwork7 ай бұрын
You know it’s funny you mention that I recorded a short this week in that. To answer your question on the brass knobs, they really only have one function and that is to clamp the framing square into the tool! Thanks so much for watching as always Michael!

Veritas sells a square fence as well for like $30. I like the blue dog square that fastcap sells. It’s a framing square that has what they call dogs in them allowing you to align the square. Maybe one day you can review it. Thanks for the video.

Dogg, man...effing Burt...this channel is the best, dude! Rachel/Raquel is rocking that suit. We bought the DFM based on your recommendation; we're hoping that the GoHelper isn't as good. after spending almost fifty dollars Glad you didn't break your lead. You do love "checking for square." Extra length is a good thing. Doesn't every woodworker love lips on tools?

Nice find!!! So how square did your framing squares end up being? Are they worth getting for projects most of us build or are they more for rough framing a house?
@FlynndoggWoodwork7 ай бұрын
Great question Damon, you know you can really dial in the fence to as accurate as you want. I've come to realize that my large framing square is a little out. However by simply adjusting it a bit with the two brass knobs, I got it dead square which was a first for that square. Great question!

That Framing Square Fence is interesting, but its use would remove the ability to use the framing square's vertical measurement scales; inner and outer.
@FlynndoggWoodwork6 ай бұрын
That's a great point John. You definitely couldn't use it accurately vertically with this thing on it. I would think that would be an easy design change for the manufacturer to make. The nice thing is however is that it is very easy to remove. So you could take it out when you needed to do vertical measurements. Thanks so much for the comment and thanks for watching John!

That was a excellent information about what appears to be not just a budget items but items with improvements. I wasnt all that entertained by Burt. However, In light of what's going on with our public schools and the pushing of the trans agenda it makes it difficult to accept his replacement. My mother was a hair stylists for 60 years. God knows I've been around my share of alternative lifestyles. It's never been an issue for me. Because those were adult choices. And I didn't then and never have judged anyones lifestyle choices. Except I do have an issue with the current movement to force adult lifestyles to kids in preschool and elementary ages in public schools. Especially when its done covertly without consulting with parents. Last point, I don't mind someone else's opinion. Trying to bully me is not going to Persuade me to change mine.

I regret not leaping to Burt's defence sooner, poor guy isn't getting the love he deserves! Not ready to dismiss Raquelle's (respect self ID, no deadnaming) potential just yet, interesting goings on in the background there, but Burt is the boss. 🥸 Also he has the strength to throw bigger tools to you clear across the shop. Can't help noticing the strong resemblance between you, obviously a very, er... close family. Do you have European ancestry? Maybe royal connections? Habsburgs perhaps? 😏

I gave Burt one of those ancestry DNA tests a couple of years ago and he disappeared for about a month after some guys in black suits took him away. Turns out he was over 75% Neaderthal (Apprently no one has ever tested that high so the CIA wanted to do some testing on him). Doesn't surprise me but now I'm curious about my family lineage! :)
