Team boots has been telling you they aren’t going after or looking for Crawford. Of course boots isn’t afraid to fight anybody but his team knows he’s not ready. Bozy and Hearn both have said they’ll unify 147, when he was with showtime Espinoza was contacted to make a fight with bud twice but he failed to negotiate because he knew boots wasn’t ready. They do need those tough step up fights in between to show him he needs to work on things and tighten up his game. If they make that jump now Bud is going to ruin him.

Boots was the number 1 contender for the ibf of course but boots was never going to get that fight and bozy said it out of his mouth that they went that route because they knew bud and Spence had a rematch clause and that the ibf doesn’t honor rematch clauses so they would strip the belt of the winner and give it to boots without having to fight for it. That’s exactly what happened, bud couldn’t negotiate with or fight anybody but Spence until the rematch was either negotiated or they failed to negotiate before the clause expired. Bud and Spence rematch was never going to be for undisputed because the ibf was planning to strip the winner on a certain date and that date would be before the bud-Spence rematch clause expiration date.
