Now a days a lot of husbands are also taking dowry as a form of insurance in case of divorce, because he will have to give maintenance and assets to the wife. Women are capable of working, so the concept of maintenance should also not exist. Child maintenance is fine.. A lot of my friends have decided not to get married because they fear the wife will take away their wealth in a divorce. So, their thinking is that they will take dowry as a form of insurance. Imagine the world we are living in these days.

Pehle hamare yaha bhi dahej pratha thi gujrat me. Lekin ab to ye halat ho gayi hai ki ladki mil jayo to hi bahut hai kyoki abhi ladko ke mukable ladkiya kam hai to sab ko ladki asani se nahi milti hai. Isiliye yaha pe ya to sata pratha hai ya phir ladke vale ladki valo ko paise dete hai aur vo bhi lakho me. Sata matlab ki bhai aur bahen dono ki shadi ek hi ghar me ya phir ek hi parivar me karte hai. Agar ek ki bhi shadi me koi problem ayi aur shadi toot gayi to doosri Jodi bhi toot jayegi. Lekin ab hamare yaha dahej pratha bahut hi kam dekhne ko milti hai.
