As a bulgarian (from the east coast countryside) even I haven't even been to Veliko Tarnovo but I knew all the history you explained in the video I loved with veliko tarnovo from your perspective and your trip, it's also knows as the art 🎨 capital ( I know that as an artist) known for paintings and handmade crafts Im glad you enjoyed it and liked the way that latte looked my favourite too 😂❤😊

After Constantinople fell, Tarnovo was referred to as the Second Constantinople or Third Rome. Bulgaria also ranks 3rd in archeological sites after Greece and Italy.

The third asen brother kaloyan aka the roman slayer(in answer of byzantene emperor basil the second named the bulgarslayer)defeated the undefeated latin knights and took their emperor balduin from belgium prisoner, while the nephew ivan asen the second was famous with his royal weddings with foreign ruling dynasties and gain much teritorry this way, also he flex a lot by saying that all the balkan people inqluding the latin knights live under his rule and thanks to him they used to exist, because they didnt had another emperor but him, this was found on a column celebrating his greatest victory at 9th of march 1230 over the despot of epirus theodor komninus, who was overconfident in his victory and brought all his family and nobels to watch the battle, his army was twise bigger than bulgarian one(30 000 versus 12 000 bulgarians)we had a peace deal with him and our emperor put the threaty on a spear,to inspire the soldiers, after the battle, our ruler, captured all the nobels and family of theodor komninus and later fell in love with his daughter irina and marry her, ivan asen took all the lands of komninus and bulgaria reached her teritorrial peak having access to three seas the black, the adriatic and the aegean, and this for the second time the first time was in the so called golden century for bulgaria, during the rule of our first internationally recognised emperor simeon the great(9th-10th century),the teritorry of bulgaria both times was arround 700 000sq.km,inqluding translilvania, present day macedonia, part of albania ,big part of present day greece......veliko tarnovo was the most powerfull city on the balkans called the third rome......ivan asen famously let all prisoners of war go home and was loved by his subjects and his enemies alike........litle later after ivan asen bulgarians and byzantenes succeeded to expel the latins from the balkan peninsula and later payed the price, because the pope financed heavily the turks and ships from venice and genua transported the ottoman armies when neccesary,...the turks would never conquer all the balkan states by themself, this are, sebian, bulgarian and byzantene empires, and the kingdoms of albania(very powerfull),croatia, wallahia, later hungary, moldavia(wallahia, present day romania and moldavia were bulgarian kingdoms, wich forcfully were transitioned to romanic states in 19th century to ditch bulgaria mighty history, they used our language and alphabeth)our second empire tzars called themself "by god ruler of all bulgarians ,wlachs and greeks"

@@Xploreoclock no I am from vidin(on the Danube river and here is the second Bulgaria bridge on the river, the other is in ruse),it was also a capital during the 1300s,the so called vidin tzardom or kingdom,it was very powerfull and was involved in the hundred years war between France and England with mercenaries, the territory of vidin tzardom wes beyond the Danube river....recently they renovated our sinagogue, smth we expect from 30 years(Google vidin sinagogue),it is one of the biggest in all of Europe and was called the white swan of the Danube, also the best preserved Bulgarian fortress baba vida fortress is located here.....German traveler from the 1300s wrote,I was in a three states named Bulgaria, first had capital, called vidin, second capital veliko tarnovo and third capital was kaliakra, the capital of dobrudjia principality, named after its ruler dobrotica, there was a German quarter in tarnovo, named Frankish fort and the germans called tarnovo, ternau
