My money is 5100’s for sure 😂 but jokes aside, I truly appreciate the adaptability of the SDI technology to the king and fox platform, that’s huge for the DIY community for sure.

@shocksurplus I may have missed it in the video, but did y’all run these with or without sway bars? I’m considering the universal kit to swap the resi on some Elka’s I have on my Silverado. Potentially running a rear sway bar with front sway bar delete to force a little more articulation up front or just no sway bar at all. How effective would these be at controlling sway on road on a full-size? 🤔

This was without sway bars, however most higher end Tacoma coilovers are valved to at least somewhat compensate for the front sway bar removed as it is very commonly removed. That said the SDI reservoirs respond relative to the rate of movement of the suspension, so they will stiffen relative to the sway as is. Will it be as stable as it was without a bar? Probably not, but they should certainly keep things driveable to say the least

2022 ranger.....what would you suggest for something that will allow me to drive down Alaskan pot holed roads at speed without spilling my coffee hahaha. Seriously been looking into the fox 2.5 dsc....icon stage 5..(although the more I read the less I want icon...bp51...king setup...

Icon didn't do well for us on washboard and potholed roads, the digressive valving in most of their coilovers gives a lot of feedback on the chatter. King would be the plushest, but also handle the worst on the daily drive / gravel roads - they're meant for moderate speed over rougher terrain. Kings just feel too soft for us with any decent load, but of course you could custom tune for better behavior. I'd put serious thought into the Old Man Emu BP51 setup, super comfortable on washboard and easy stuff due to the internal bypass, you could also tune from there with the compression and rebound adjustment (fox,king,icon dont have these features). We have these on our overlanded Tacoma Fox 2.5 DSC are definitely a solid option, a good middle ground between King and Icon in terms of handling and comfort. We ran these on our desert Tacoma, love the adjustability.

@@ShockSurplus if you had to pick fox vs ome bp-51...which way would you go? This is a daily driver hence only wanting 33s. I do go down pot holed roads as fast as comfort will allow so that would be one thing...but as you said I still drive the highway so road handling is equally important

Fox 2.5s if you're using the vehicle on more off-roading and technical trails, crawling, and higher speed driving. OME BP51s are more capable as an overlander doing less technical situations and providing the best overall comfort control.
