That was my first thought after leaving the floating island. "Wait. That's like hitting concrete. Link definitely has a broken neck." But given that Link literally spends the whole game surviving stuff like this and way worse, I think we can just chalk it up to Link being an eldritch twunk. He's here to do two things: kill demon gods, and cook tasty food. And he's all out of ingredients.
@SilverIV Жыл бұрын
He is after all somehow able to parry a lynel charge with the force of 440 kilonewtons and miraculously survives that shit. Good thing Link is an absolute unit who can in fact tank being literally chewed up by a rock-eating monster in the same game, as well as sword slashes while nude. I like the way you explain things even more now that you are independent. You mentioned Links height in both the metric and the US customary way so everyone understands it and you used examples that were both informational and entertaining which also describes the video in general pretty well. There is a lot to appreciate about the method, like how detailed you explained the measurement process and talked about its limits. Also, the video just seems a lot more unrestricted and genuine. PS: That slip of the tongue when mentioning -twi-- Link is just way too relatable.

diving off of high bridges used to be very popular and some of the divers made pointed shoes, by keeping their feet together the shoes broke the surface tension of the water and allowed these men to survive diving from heights that would normally instantly kill you on impact. Link however just has a higher power level then the water.

You mentioned the Glide Suit at the end and I'm wondering how effective it is at slowing Link down. It's a pretty substantial difference - i think it halves the fall rate. 15m/s might be dangerous but seems like it should be manageable with the right landing.
@Samuel.55 Жыл бұрын
The glide suit is interesting for another reason too, a fully upgraded glide armour set reduces links fall damage to zero. You can dive earth and the suit eats all the Gs when you hit the floor with your face.

9:00(ish) - thatd make sense to me...a lot of our Earliest Units were based on Water's behavior (that Celsius guy decided to call its freezing point "0" and its boiling point "100", for example)...and theres an old saying i heard that goes "a pint is a pound, the world around", referring to the weight of water-- 16 "Fluid Ounces" weighs 16 "Ounces"; so 8floz. in a cup, two cups in a pint, means 16floz. in a pint...if were using Metric units, then a Cubic Centimeter (or a Milliliter) of water has a 1 Gram mass...raising that 1 mL by 1 degree Celsius requires 1 Calorie of energy...a Cubic Meter of water would be a Kiloliter, so a million milliliters, or a million grams, so 1000 Kilograms, which is indeed a (metric) Tonne...

7:57 Just wanted to correct 1 thing. While the exact time difference between botw and totk is never stated (to my knowledge), several years have definitely passed (many assume approximately 5 considering the apparent age of a child born in the years between). So Link is not a teenager anymore and is now firmly in his 20s. As evidence, I submit that the alcoholic drink he was not allowed to purchase in botw (put his age below 20) can now be purchased in totk (making him at least 21).

The Mythbusters tackled this one many eons ago before the show ended. They put the bodies of pigs in special made bags then had them dropped from a helicopter at a height that would make them reach terminal velocity. One was dropped over a parking lot, the other over a lake. They used a mobile x-ray machine brought by a vet to assess which one was more dead. The one that hit the water suffered a total decapitation. No they didnt open the bags. They did do other things to explain surface tension as well. Great video!
