Its really sad if you think of it, Nerevar the hero who only wanted peace and good was betrayed by those he saved. And Dagoth the most loyal and great friend of Nerevar was corrupted by the power, and lost his loyalty. And Nerevar was forced to hurt him and only Nerevar's soul himself could kill him. Oh Azura, this is so inaccurate. I barely know where to begin. 01:38 His name was Nerevar.. not Indoril, not *the* Nerevar. He IS remembered today, his face is on the ordinator armors in Morrowind. He is loved by the Tribunal, even though they murdered him. 2:45 Arguable on that friendship part. Almalexia is Nerevar's Wife. 3:00 Their names before godhood were Ayem, Seht, and Vehk respectively. 3:25 Kagrenac wasn't evil. Also, the Numidium wasn't intended to be THEIR god, it was meant to be a way to broadcast the Heart of Lorkhan's power into the entire race of Dwemer, so they could ascend to godhood as a whole. They wouldn't worship it, they already had gods. 04:12 Where did you get that from? Dagoth told Nerevar that, as Dagoth was suspicious of the dwemer. Nerevar went to Dumac to clear it up but Dumac told him not to meddle in the affairs of the Dwemer. Then he became suspicious. 5:40 Automatons AND dwemer themselves fought. 6:11 He rallied all Chimer together through their Velothi religion and became the Hortator, basically a Warlord. 7:35. They fused to the Skin of Numidium. That's what happened. They became part of the Numidium. 8:00 **THIS PART IS THE MOST CONTROVERSIAL AND ACTUALLY HAS LITTLE ESTABLISHED CANON, AS WELL A ME BEING RUSTY WITH THIS EVENT.** but god man, even I can do better. After what happened to Dagoth, (He was made to guard the tools, and so was corrupted by his proximity to the heart of lorkhan, driving him insane and making him into the Sharmat) he was cautious about destroying them and wanted to get counsel from Azura. Unfortunately, The tribunal were seduced by the power and poisoned his robes, insence and verses of prayer. They killed him and then stole the power of the heart using the tools of Kagrenac.

Oh, and Yagarum Bagarum, the last remaining dwemer, is still alive during the Third Era.
@Frencho911 жыл бұрын
Seconded. Shoddycast usually sticks to the facts but this one is heavily interpreted and biased (couldn't be more anti-dwemer), on top of the many lore mistakes and omissions. Maybe they were trying to tell the story from the chimer point of view, but that's not a good thing seeing the purpose of these series is to initiate people into TES lore, better stick to hard facts. Indoril is the great house name, like a last name, Nerevar is his first name, his title was the Hortator. There is no desert in Resdayn (Yes it wasn't called morrowind at that time) but ashlands, Nerevar was the chieftain of the ashlanders not desert barbarians. "7:35. They fused to the Skin of Numidium. That's what happened. They became part of the Numidium." By that I guess you mean that they used Numidium (The brass god/Golem) as a catalyst, a means to an end, to reach Anumidum (The dwemers own sacred and divine plane, like their own Aetherius). The Dwemer vanished, period, there is no proof that they all literally died, or transcended the mortal plane into godhood, or that maybe, by messing with lorkhan's hearth, the Earth Bones (akatosh) flinged them in time, like what happened to alduin and thus the dwemer could come back at some point. It's just I doubt that all the dwemer souls are in the Brass Golem. But this is Tamriel's biggest mystery, so who knows, I like that Bethesda left this unanswered, leaves room for a lot personal interpretations of the event (much like Dark souls lore) and nice debates on the subject, keeps it fun and interesting. Dagoth Ur was killed by Nerevar, Ayem, Seht, and Vehk, but he resuscitated later on, unbeknownst to them. The whole House Dagoth was purged due to this incident. The last remaining dwemer, correct name is Yagrum Bagarn, found in Tel Fyr under the care of the Telvanni wizard lord Dyvath Fyr.

Frencho9 The great thing about Bethesda lore is there is no clear sides, and everyone interpenetrates their own story's from what is available the physical world. To anyone who wants the real story play morrowind Game of the year, and heavily modded. Use this video*** as more or less a reference because unless you played through it two or three times the plot can be a bit confusing. Read your books, pay attention to your thousands of pages of dialog and well just imagine the rest of the world. Facts are Facts, History is construed facts.

I see things this way: 1. Dagoth Ur used tools on heart after the battle, otherwise he would be dead,but he was resurrected. He did it by some kind of accident, if he done it right, Tribunal/Nerevar would not be able to defeat him beneath Red Mountain. After using tools he lost his mind, or at least part of it. 2. I think Nerevar died from wounds inflicted by , either dwemer (battle sure was fierce enough, remember Trueflame shattered in dwemer shield) or/and Dagoth Ur. I dont think Tribunal killed Nerevar. I think members of the Tribunal were good (back then) and they wanted to do good things with divine powers,for their country and their people. There is propaganda to it for sure, but remember that all accounts speak of Tribunal doing great and heroic things for the people with their divine power (Salas Valor basically confirms this, Almalexia stop being good is the very reason he rebels),also remember that Tribunal Gods didnt went on berserk mode and start conquering the rest of the Tamriel. So it was not about the power for the sake of power (at the begging at least). I think many people miss the point of the story of Morrowind. The way i see it, its not about revenge, its about "the path to evil being paved with good intentions" and about mortality and godhood. As Vivec said himself, its a sad thing being mortal, beaten by life,fate,gods... but at the end being God is also difficult (responsibility),lonely and so on. Tribunal wanted to do good things and they did, they wanted to free mortal races from Daedric influences and they did (to some extent). But, even without Dagoth Ur, they were losing what was left of their humanity (Dagoth Urs awakening only speeded up the process) and it is the key problem, they become more and more like Daedra (that they despise) and less "human". They forget about the people and only cared about themselves, Almalexia especially. Thanks for reading and sorry for bad English :D

You're objectively wrong about the Tribunal not killing Neravar. Vivec literally admits he did it in 3 different places, in 2 different games.
@CernobilRS2 жыл бұрын
@@MeepChangeling You use word "objectively" wrong. Vivec denies killing Nerevar when you ask him about it in his temple-palace, but claims hi did betray him by using tools. There are many books and notes in Morrowind, not only Vivec poems, that state false facts. Vivec killing him is more in line of him betraying Nerevars wishes... his dying friend. Not actually stabbing him with knife or something. Azura also never accused Tribunal of killing Nerevar, but rather of them betraying him and her and using tools on the heart. That was their crime. Dagoth Ur himself claims he and Nerevar fought beneath Red Mountain. And there is only one game that matters on the subject and thats Morrowind and its expansions.

This is the story the tribunal told the public but if you ever played morrowind then you would know that after Dagoth fled, The Nevera was going to call Azura and ask what to do with the tools, the other three knew that she would tell him to destroy them so they poisoned him and took the tools for themselves. Azura came and cursed them and said he would be reborn and avenge his murder. All the ashlanders knew this so the tribunal persecuted them hard, and dagoth ur tells you this when you meet him
@Lightscribe2257 жыл бұрын
Both are true. The dragon break caused by activating Numidium means multiple timelines take place, meaning both events and possibly more took place. Ayem, Seht and Vehk stood by their friend Nerevar as he succumbed to his wounds. Almalexia, Sotha Sil and Vivec murdered their Hortator Nerevar. Ayem Seht Vehk = Almalexia Sotha Sil Vivec = ALMSIVI. Everything is true, nothing is correct.

There is a side quest in the collage of Winterhold that is called Arniel's Endeavor. For those who have not heard or finished this quest. The quest starts off as most do gathering what is to be thought useless gears for this mage to study. In fact it's more of a test for him to trust you with an even greater task. He wants to find out why the Dwemer disappeared by recreating what they did. The gears were used to make a dwarven convector which he broke in his last attempt. This causes the player to find ones that are all over Skyrim. After completing this he asks you to find him the artifact call Keening(as seen in this video), a dagger used to harness power from the heart of lorkan. With this dagger and the wrapped gem he 'successfully' recreates what he believed happened to the Dwemer and disappears forever. The Keening along with Sunder and Wraithguard are the 3 devices used to harness the heart. Arniel even talked about the gem not being equivalent to a dead god's heart but the purified soul gem should work just as well. I'm only trying to explain more on what this series has explained thus far of the Dwemer. I'm not trying to say that Arniel did what the Dwemer did as he lacked the the heart, Sunder and Wraithgaurd but I'm just explaining an adding more information.

There are some major flaws in this 1 - There was a single Dwemer left, Yagrum Bagarn, he was in a different dimension (Oblivion) at the time and was spared 2 - Dagoth Ur convinced Almalexia who then persuaded Sotha Sil to create a way to use the Heart 3 - Sotha Sil, Almalexia and Vivec poisoned Nerevar, with poisoned Robes, Candles and poems, respectively. 4 - Dagoth went mad with power and tried to undo what the others had done and that's why he kept the Heart and tools

1. The existence of a last remaining dwemer is not widely known, and I know they tend to write each video from a particular viewpoint, usually one that greatly involves the subject matter (so from the Tribunal themselves perhaps?) 2. I'm a bit rusty, but didn't Dagoth Ur go nuts trying to stay loyal to Nerevar (hence he didn't want to give up the tools?) He ended up with godhood inadvertently? 3. The poisoning is up for some debate...it's said both ways many times in the games, and since we never hear an official firsthand account (the Tribunal would never admit they did it) we can't say for sure. I personally think they did, too, but no solid evidence in-game. I do wish they would've at least mentioned this possibility, but oh well. 4. Again, I think the power of the Heart drove him mad, but it made him mad with purpose: to continue protecting these tools as instructed by Lord Nerevar.
@trexalfa11 жыл бұрын
Well, Vehk did admit to it... (the murder I mean). It is pretty stablished that the Tribunal murdered Nerevar.

I have a theory on the disappearance of the Dwarves. What if they just got lost in time, either in the past or future, Think about it, an entire race just vanishing without a trace or even one body being found. Isn't it possible that when the heart was stabbed somehow they ruptured the fabric of space and time with it only affecting their race sense they dwelled in that sort of thing. Also, remember they were the most technologically advanced race in all of Tamrial. Perhaps they could be brought back like Alduin but it would have too be the same place where they vanished which is Red Mountain.

It seems odd that the Dwemer are always shown in armor, even when working inside a work shop. Is it because "dwarven" armor is the only type of apparel associated with them that exists in Skyrim?
@Lightscribe22510 жыл бұрын
Yup. There are not existing models of Dwemer that do them justice. A proper Dwemer should be an elf with grey skin and a beard that reaches to his belt.

It is no longer known what was the cause of Nerevar's death, the most popular tale is the one mentioned in the video. However another texts suggest that he died from wounds Dagoth inflicted, and ashlander texts say that his advisers killed him in order to gain power. Great video looking forwards to the next :)

For the last time the lore is given from the perspective of the subject. A video about the tribunal is going to show their view on things and there official version of the accounts. That is for all of you that are saying this episode got everything wrong just remember this is the tribunals version of history not an objectiv story telling.So stop saying the episode has it all wrong since this is the tribunals official version of the events.

What about Dragon Break that occurred during battle of Red Mountain? I mean, you are presenting in the video events of only one timelines, but due to the rip in spacetime there were a few of them at same time with different happenings. Dagoth Ur were slain and was not, Nerver were murdered and died in battle, Tribunal betrayed and were betrayed - all of this at the same time. What I find funny is that in one timeline version it was mentioned that Chimers and Dwemers fought together and not aggainst. You should at least mention this. :)

I have FINALLY done it! I have caught up on ALL Shoddy Cast ESO, Epic Stories & Fallout vids! Sub'd in mid Dec. bcuz of ESO lore vids (Josh, Josh, HE'S our man! If he can't do it, NO ONE can!) and stayed for the rest (except GW, which I am unfamiliar with). I have spent long hours, daily, going from oldest to newest and the day is finally HERE! I feel a bit like Tom Hanks in Cast Away, when he finally manages to make a fire. "I have made FIRE! I have done this!" LOL. But now that my labors are done, and the holiday season (I hope yours are merry and festive, Shoddy Bros) is upon us, I must wait for more and I'm not quite sure what to do with my life til you return. I've sepnt so many countless hours listening to you both, that you've become my best friends (j/k) & I will miss you. ;) Guess it's back to Morrowind for a couple of weeks. Love u guys. Have commented on almost every vid. Can't wait until they release some juicy confirmations on ESO. Until then, I bid you adieu. :*

It's an item of cult in the catholic church where the priests put the Chalice containing the blood of christ (Wine) and some flat bread (representing his body). We often pronounce it ta-Bar-nak and it's a common curse word here (pretty close to the F word) because of our catholic roots. I use it often and I'm atheist, just sayin. Cultural stuff.

JonnyMJMovieStudios 1. Calm down? What about my post gives off an aggressive or angry vibe...? 2. "People like you" You mean people in the know...? 3. Regardless of 'how much time is put into it', mistakes are mistakes. I think he'd appreciate someone being honest and instead of death threats and the usual Internet bullshit, and would like to know where mistakes are made. He said it himself that he loved the lore and was new to it. Consider this me helping him find his feet in the lore. I still think he should ask the Bethesda TES Lore Forum for advice, though. There is no better source for information.

A word of warning for those interested in the Elder Scrolls lore. This video is full of holes. See the thread in the Bethesda TES Lore forums here to see how: forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1482352-shoddycasts-battle-of-red-mountain-video-is-obscene/ The people on Reddit caught wind of this episode, too. www.reddit.com/r/teslore/comments/1o1ni0/how_accurate_is_the_shoddycast_lore_series/ - That link just lists EVERY mistake. And the fact that one forum member posted comments saying that this was largely inaccurate and these comments were removed does little to help with Shoddycast's flimsy-at-best reputation amongst the TES community. These videos are fine to help get you interested, but I wouldn't accept them as fact.
