Thank you John! Glad you like them. I think I will also be bringing this model in Guimaraes Brown in the near future.

I have just bought a pair of CS Double Monks in the Wine Shadow patina and although they are beautiful and rich looking, I'm really struggling to see any wine colour at all, more like a rich autumn brown. How do yours look to you?
@wishoeguy3 жыл бұрын
I find there to be some nice red, but if you’d like more I would get some Hermès red polish and give a couple coats. I don’t think that would hurt the patina at all, but if you’re worried you can use burgundy on the darker spots and just let it fully dry before brushing. I’ve taken off the factory polish and just letting them soak up the conditioner. I used a Pinot colored polish from @Purepolish on these to accentuate the red.

@@wishoeguy Would that remove any noticeable streaking in the patina?
@wishoeguy3 жыл бұрын
The patina is done in dye but they are polished too. Some burnish in every patina is actually colored polish but most is dye. If the streaks are in the dye then they won’t be removed. If they are in the polish that may be. They will also be when you do a full polish in neutral... so I would be ok risking it because you can’t go forever on the original polish. On my other patina shoes I just used neutral for the first few and really worked hard to replace the wax polish burnish. With these I used a WRC right away for protection. Part of it is season. During winter I can’t wait and we are getting close.

Awesome shoe! I plan on buying that model for my bday in April. That patina work amazes me! Would love to see s shoe battle between this and the G&G St. James II.

Excellent review, looks like a gorgeous shoe! Out of curiosity, how would you say it compares to TLB Mallorca's Artista Line? Debating between picking up a pair of these or getting a second pair from TLB Mallorca.
@wishoeguy3 жыл бұрын
Very similar although I like the feel of the vegano Artista a little more. That said. Both are very nice.

Which is the better value for price, TLB Arista or Carlos Santos Handgrade?
@wishoeguy Жыл бұрын
TLB. Better leather. But the patina on the handgrade is unmatched.

Inquiring from your experience sir, looking to purchase a pair of shoes from Antonio Meccariello and my us width is a “D”. Their standard width size is an E. The confusion that I have is that I am a size 11.5 and from their charts it states that I should order a 10.5. Understood that much, is their “E” our “D” version here in the states? Any info would be appreciated brother. Thank you in advance.

If you’re buying direct I would email Antonio and ask him about specific brands that fit well and how they translate. He has a number of lasts on his three lines and they might all be slightly different. I own a hawksbill last and went down half a size. I wish I’d gone down a whole size.

How do you like wearing these? With suits or odd trousers?
@wishoeguy3 жыл бұрын
Both. As cap toe oxfords I don’t find the brogue too much to wear with a suit for most occasions. Even DB.
@navigatelegalservicesllc3 жыл бұрын
@@wishoeguy They seem pretty versatile. They have a shape with the soft chisel to make them dressy and elegant for suits/DBs and a bit of brogueing to work with odd trousers. Burgundy is also very versatile. Thanks.
