I really like how you explained what HPA meant and how the foot affects the rest of the anatomy of the horse. Indy also seems like a very good girl!

Looks nice. Though, I see that you get rid of the broken back HPA. I‘m curious if you ever can “build a stronger heel” on the horse. I used a lot if wedge pads on harness horses back in the 90’s. Seemed we got rid of the strain in DDFT but once we started using them we had to continue. I’m not the least afraid of what happens under the pad if you use a packing. Once again, nice job

Thanks. My aim is to always try to get the horse into a more ‘normal’ set up (although that is normally just a flat pad and packing). If I’m using dental impression material then I have a greater chance and a quicker chance of achieving that goal. In this case I feel it is achievable, it will just take a while to get there. I’m not averse to leaving horses in wedge pads if they need them tho as some like it a lot.

Are you guys able to get different grits for your hoof buffing tool?
@harryspinksfarrier44124 жыл бұрын
I don’t know whether we can in the U.K. I believe I use a 80 grit. Lasts for around a month.

Hey guys stop and think about angles, are you write ? Stop and think about the way to dress the feet and allow for the most important item. Movement

never use a heel wedge it crushes the heels
@harryspinksfarrier44123 жыл бұрын
Sadly this is an incorrect misconception. As with everything it all depends on the application and used in the right way they can have a great affect. Sarah bean in fact did her fellowship thesis and found that wedges don’t crush heels.

Study some physics and you’ll find out how misleading what we’ve been taught about crushed heels really is
