I really appreciate the straightforward great advice in this video, my son is very advanced in some areas and not in others, the simple format here makes it easier to learn such a dexterity heavy task. Now I just need a videos of other older kid life lessons. Especially relating to laundry getting put away when they want to be in charge of the task themselves but get frustrated with hangers & folding or too many deep wrinkles.

Lots of useful tips..... I still think the video could be improved by filming the lace tying process from how the child would be viewing it--not from the perspective of facing the toes of the shoe. Also, how about a few close ups. Thank you!

Thank you so much. My youngest is 10 and I’ve been struggling to teach him. I like all the tips but really resonated with the last one, backwards chaining. I think this will help him as he does tend to frustrate easily. Though he’s so much better. I’ll try the regular way first and if I see him getting frustrated I’ll try that tip. Wish us luck 🍀

Generally it is 6 years of age but because most shoes now have velcro straps I am finding the kids are learning this skill when they are closer to 7/8 years old. Hope that helps!
