I think Token and Kez were really uncomfortable on this beat. Kez said specifically that if he had a choice he would never rap over a beat like this. Token especially, while talented, is not very versatile as an artist. He always uses a very similar “in your face” delivery with these kind of slow flows. This beat is basically the polar opposite of his style, which is why I think it sounds so poor. I think both verses are decent, not the worst on the cypher in either case, but both could’ve definitely been better

David Crooks all I’m saying is scru has been rapping longer then crypt and scru criticised the cyphers so much but his cypher didn’t bang like he thought it would and it’s because he made it and put it together in a month, crypt took at least 4/5 months on each cypher and it shows as even though the people aren’t really as talented on crypts cyphers, it runs a lot smoother.

There was literally no cohesion in any of the verses, but maybe that’s just me being picky by comparing them to the pokemon cyphers where everyone blows it out of the water in their own ways.

@@Fyre11 the thing about that, is Scru was inspired to do all this with shofu n others after seeing the pokemon cyphers. so idk why he didn't take notes and see that they polished it as much as possible and gave every one a chance to shine. Like idk wtf Scru was in a rush for, ain't no where anybody gotta be we all in the fuckin house right now lol. If he's gonna do a part 2 again, he should incorporate the dudes who he wanted to do this with in the first place. And use that template. And either give everyone their own beat, or what hasn't been done yet, give every single one their version of the same core instrumental. So if someone's style is grittier, straight forward like Token, make their instrumental more aggressive, and someone like Kez that's a lil more energetic and ignorant, give it that soundcloud rap energy. Because Samad and Scru's tweaks to their instrumental definitely complimented their verses.
