Thanks. And very good question. All white's strategies in which he tries to make rapid attacks and to open fire faster than black when black is going for Yagura, are categorized in to "Rapid Encountered Yagura" games. So, it applies to this opening, too, because black's tries to go into Yagura opening at first, although it was stopped by white in very few moves.

That piece set was proposed by one of the viewers. He sent me the drawings, and I tried it in this video.

Thanks for answering his question! Instead of L*5b, more easily, +P-6b would work.

At 3:54, why can't black just push his the 9 pawn to the f file to attack the silver? Isn't it defended by the lance?
@DarkThomy4 жыл бұрын
Try it yourself . But basically, White's threat to promote his pawn on 8g is greater than taking his silver.

It's BCM-Shogi that I'm using. Just search it on the net.

A very complex opening to me in shogi
@DaveG3614 жыл бұрын
Hello, sorry for all the questions, but I am new to Shogi and want to learn. @ 3:20 in this video you explain why P-9f after S-8d is not recomended. However, what if White plays P-9d prior to S-8d? I've had this happen in games I've played and lost. In my studies I've found it is usually a good idea to push edge pawns if your opponet does. Any advice wouid be appreciated. Thank you.

If you move the silver to 5a king can capture it , so black will just loose silver After S-5c+ the moves are K-5a, L*5b, Gx5b +Px5b, Gx5b, Rx5b

why doesn't he just move his pawn forward to protect his bishop?

I see you tried another set of Westernized pieces. I love the new Pawns and Rooks, but the Gold/Silver look a bit hard to distinguish. Especially how the Silver looks more precious than the Gold. The Bishop is a person with a spear? Great video by the way

4:05 ~ put a note there :D bishop 7i great lesson again sir! btw why is it called yagura? only for the very few moves at the beginning? looks a total different development to me :\

At 21:47, shouldn't the mate be at S-5a= rather than S-5c+ because King can go back to 5a after S-5c+.
@boayjunhung70235 жыл бұрын
you noticed it as well huh?
@robertwegner89625 жыл бұрын
@@boayjunhung7023 How is S-5a= a mate? The king can simply take it. After S-5c+ however, a forced mate sequence follows: K-5a, +P-6b, Gx6b, Rx6b+. Hidetchi sometimes calls a situation "mate" when there is a tsume shogi on the board (a forced sequence of moves that will eventually lead to mate).
