Would you choose Verlander or Judge in the final game of World Series MLB and east coast media seem to have decided the MVP is the hitter who hits the most homeruns on a winning team, pointing out WAR which ignores a two-way player. Rating one player as two separate players, of course his numbers are less. You are right, Ohtani is the definition of MVP, hopefully MVP voters are honest baseball writers who realize better numbers do not always mean better player. Baseball is so much more than who hits the most homeruns. To compare a starting pitcher with 20+ homeruns to an elite homerun hitter... how crazy is that, no comparison... Ohtani is unanimous MVP

Yes, no comparison, Ohtani should win hands down. Ohtani already has 29 HRs so he’ll finish with 30+ HRs+ and 10+ wins on a team that doesn’t provide the batting lineup that protects him and struggling relievers. If Judge wins the MVP because of the east coast MLB media bias, I’m not tuning into MLB.

@@kacey_k Isn't it amazing how they try to compare an elite hitters numbers to a starting pitcher hitting numbers... and say the elite hitter is so much better... umm well yes he should be, he's a hitter. And they add, the hitters WAR is much higher... hopefully those writers who are MVP voters are not fooled by numbers that ignore a two-way player rated erroneously as two separate players. Even the voters at ESPYs know the complexity of being both a good pitcher and good hitter, recognizing and awarding Ohtani with the Best Male Athlete in all sports. So if the MVP voters choose a player with the most homeruns...what a shame to the game of baseball...

Yes, that last pitching performance was one of his best this season, and as often happens the day after he pitches, he had a big day at the plate. Ben, have you ever commented on the Ohtani sneer that he gives at time, especially on the mound? It's like an Elvis sneer--half playful and half serious. It's one of the fun facial expressions and personality revelations of Ohtani when he's on the field.

Ohtani is the REAL AL MVP, no one affects both sides of the playing field like him and the only thing missing from the Angels/Yankees series is him pitching. Judge gets the Hank Aaron award for best hitter in the game, that's what the Hank Aaron award is for. Just imagine for a second that it was Judge that hit that home run and the Yankees wins 3-2 over the Angels. What would Judge supporters be saying? I mean if ONLY the Angels and the Yankees had a three-game series and both Ohtani and Judge had the opportunity to prove how VALUABLE they are to their respective team, if ONLY. Also, from what I can read online, general baseball fans think it's Ohtani, Yankees fans and the so-called baseball experts think it's Judge because he hits a lot of home runs and is on a playoff team.

The MVP race is over in my mind. It's Ohtani , then the rest. He's going to go 200+ K's and 12 wins or more on the mound with an era in the 2's. He's going to go 900 OPS, 35 HR and 100 RBI or so at the plate. I can guarantee if Shohei wins 4/5 of his last starts, and gets to win number 15 for like a 15-8 record with his 35 HR &90 RBI + at the plate, he might be unanimous again.
