I swear, I have been a Phillies fan for over 27 years and I have never seen any human being accomplishing what Shohei Ohtani is doing . 2 nights...it took just two consecutive nights to show us the most brilliant two-way performances ever! 8 RBI...I've only seen that one other time, Jayson Werth with the Phillies. Then, the very next night, he completely annihilated the Royals, the same team that scored 12 runs against the Angels the night before. I still found that difficult to believe that Shohei's 8 RBI wasn't enough to win the game! 🤯 8 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 13 K. This, as you said, Ben, is historical.

1. I talk about him just as much as you probably do! I absolutely love this guy and to be an Angels fan and see what he is doing is incredible!!!! Every time he comes to the plate....I wait to see what he will do. Combined with his super incredible skill set, Shohei is humble, respectful and is quite simply, a “Class Act”. He has heightened strong interest in baseball and is an excellent role model for what the human spirit is able to achieve with passion, unrelenting desire, focused discipline and hard work. I believe his father’s coaching and mentoring instilled his character and values. It’s an interesting video of Shohei’s youth.

Ben, do you have any insight as to why Trout and Walsh were both not playing on Wednesday? It almost seems as though the Angels don't care if they win or lose particularly when Shohei is pitching. This was not the first time Trout took a rest day when Shohei was on the mound. It worked out this time, but that will not always be the case. Shohei needs the support of his whole team if they are going to be playoff contenders right? Have they given up on the playoffs? I am very frustrated and confused by this. Great show. Love the Shohei segments.

They were scheduled days off for Trout and Walsh, but this isn't the first time this has happened when Shohei pitched. There were quite a few other times Maddon rested Trout, Walsh and a few of the other starters and literally had triple A players playing.
