Jail is tolerant of weekend, and nights-only sentencing that tends to accompany lesser crimes. Jail is *not* prison. Ignorant people conflate the two. Ippei faces prison time, not jail.

You're right. The whole debacle was heartbreaking and freaking weird. But it's how addicts are. Any addict, from alcohol to drugs to gambling and so on. They even screw their own loved ones, I don't find it that exceptional that an addict would betray a friend. On another note, thank you Ben, for clearly stating the obvious; no one becomes a fall guy for 33 years in jail! I also thank the FBI for doing their job so quickly. I hear so many Americans complaining about their law enforcement all the time, but this time around it seems like they did their job pretty well. At least that's how it seems from the other side of the world!

A short while ago, I watched Buehler and Kershaw watching Ohtani hitting HRs from the bench. That made me realize that Ohtani should've been on that bench or on the disabled list watching TV somewhere. People pay millions for elite pitchers, but as any baseball fan would know, pitchers get hurt a lot these days. Like, Gerrit Cole isn't here, DeGrom isn't here, and so on. That could've and should've been Ohtani's case, too. And some people still say he isn't worth his contract. Apparently, they don't see what the Dodgers are getting out of him, besides his off the field worth.
