Skip Shumacher has a lot of class, and the Marlin fans were incredibly excited and very gracious to Ohtani. It was great to see, and was just literally the icing on the cake of the greatest game ever.

It wouldn't have mattered at the end. Whether it is in Miami or in some other stadium, Shohei Ohtani wasn't going to get denied reaching 50-50 and beyond.

That one guy was right, the 3rd homer in the 9th was a freebie. But, respect to Schumaker for not intentionally walking Shohei in the 7th inning. Getting 50/50 by going 6 for 6 was unbelievable. I was flabbergasted.

The number of Ohtani in game like that sounded like a Little League numbers, unreal for a Major League Game. And the guy could have pitch if he had wanted. I wished I had been there to be watch a guy at the level of the Willie Mays, Hand Aaron and Roberto Clemente, do better than anything I saw them do. Only if he was Ichiro or Roberto in the outfield would have making him The Greatest! And then 50-50! Yes, agree 100% with you guys, as a baseball fan, love Schumacher saying let’s play ball, let’s see what you can do, even if he was better of walking hm!

Excuse me! That was hilarious, and I think this guy is right, if the game was tight you don’t lose the game by not walking him, but that manager allowed us to watch the best performance I have ever seen.

For the naysayers that poo poo Ohtani for hitting his last HR against a position player, remember that Mr October (Reginald Martinez Jackson) who is my favorite player even though I'm a Dodger fan since 1974, in his 3 swing/3HR game of the WS hit one of them off of a meat ball hurled by Charlie Hough. Hough was not Nolan Ryan. He threw puss. Yet that to me is one of the greatest games I remember watching. Ohtani is amazing. We're lucky to be alive as baseball fans to see him play.

Nothing against Ohtani's great performance, but I'm glad Chris mentioned the position player pitching for his last HR. For me it kinda didn't count. Guy was tossing in as per All-Star HR Derby style.

Oh, it was a phenomenal game by a transcendent athlete, not just a legendary baseball player. One small objection to the guy who was at the game and extolling Ohtani's achievements: That tag at third was not terrible; Ohtani slide, as he often does, to a specific place on the bag where it's hardest for the baseman to tag him as his leg comes in low and precisely targeted. He has studied the art of base stealing with a member of the Dodgers staff and become a master at it. That's why he's currently at 29 straight steals without being caught. Elly De La Cruz, a faster and elite base runner, can't say the same and has a significantly lower success rate.

Very Sure Ohtani can reach 50/50 without the help of a position player! So pathetic to try to make it something. Respect to Skip for respecting the game. No point in being a miserable loser with low self esteem who can’t handle others greatness. If Ohtani will hit he will hit whether in Miami or else where.

Lol yeah <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="146">2:26</a> his third HR was against a position pitcher, but there's a reason why most MLB guys *don't* HR vs position pitchers...and it's not because they're not trying
