Just as a heads up - after many of you've asked about this, I've reached out to Shokz to see if they're planning on brining back option to switch between the folders in future firmware updates. Here's what came back (UPDATE! SOLUTION BELOW THE QUOTE): "Openswim pro has cancelled the folder switching function, and can only play in the order of folder import. This is a product definition and cannot be improved by upgrading the firmware. We are sorry for the inconvenience." WORKAROUND: - Put songs for each of your playlists in separate folders. - When in MP3 mode switch playback to "Shuffle" by pressing Volume+ and Multifunction button (on the side of the speaker) for 2 secs. - Keep shuffling until you'll hear the song from the album/playlist of your choice (typically within 2/3 songs). - Switch back to "Normal" as in step 2. It's not ideal but it works. Thanks to @PaigeEscapes for the tip off!

Agreed. I've been a user of the regular Shokz for years and used to swim with music a long time ago. A never bought Shokz's swim headphones because they are really limited (no bluetooth) but also was having to buy a new set of regular Shokz every year because my sweat would eventually kill them. Finally, a pair that is both totally waterproof AND bluetooth AND mp3 capable! I wear them for everything and they just work. Yes, they need help with the music selection while swimming... but that hopefully is coming and it's nice to have it at all. And it's so cool to come in from a bike ride or run and just go straight into the shower or jump in the pool without having to worry about getting them too wet. Splashproof is ok, but truly waterproof is way better and more convenient for sure.

I love the upgrade from 4GB (not enough) to 32GB , we can now hold up to 10.000 songs by putting them in folders on the headphones, however they forgot to add a "Next folder" feature, which makes it impossible to use the 32GB because you cant navigate.I for example have put a folder of audio books, a folde rwith podcasts and a folder with all my music, but the playing always starts at the first folder, so you have to click hundreds of times the next button. I hope one day they make it possible to select the folder from the phone app, or via 4 clicks on the multifunction button.

@Stevonoles15 ай бұрын
I swim on a masters team everyday. The open swim and previous name were flawless, until either the plastic charger tab would brake and the clam shell would not stay shut, or the actual earphone part separates from the headband, near the buttons, allowing water to get in and ruin them. That being said, I have had 3 pair and each lasted about 1 year, swimming around 3000 yards each day. Just bought the pro versiion, so we will see how long they last. The seam between the headphone and headband area, does appear to be different and more robust. SHOKZ WILL NOT stand behind the 2 year warranty when registered, so don't count on that. They really should be ashamed of that policy.
@JakeOski5 ай бұрын
Hey dude, that sounds crap - what's the point in 2 year warranty if doesn't cover the seam which is pretty crucial? Sorry to hear that you've gotta replace them every year. So far mine have been stellar but I'm not anywhere near your usage load - 3k yds sounds insane!

Is the sound the exact same as the current openruns? I know you said these are more punchy so I’m curious if that’s in comparison to the current gen openruns
@JakeOski7 ай бұрын
This might be a pretty personal thing, I've found RunPro's being a bit annoying at first vs the standard ones but I got used to it fairly quickly. OpenSwim Pro are kinda similar in terms of vibrations - you can defo feel getting massaged by bass but the sound is a tad cleaner. It's something you'd definitely need to try - I think you can always send them back via Amazon if you feel they're giving you too much of a weird buzz :)
@cheekbones27 ай бұрын
I consider the vocal mode as a bass reducer. .. reduces the vibrations while sacrificing music quality when you've got to have high volume. Best for calls and podcasts.. When it comes to surface swimming, the Achilles heel of my G7 is the touch control that will activate play/pause in water. Otherwise it's far better for sound and is proving just as durable otherwise. (volume/track physical buttons are also much easier to locate/use)

I haven't had that issue even when smashing into the water kitesurfing so I'm sure that swimming won't be a problem either. And yeah the back band feels a bit loose on both Openrun Pro's in Small and Openswim Pro's. Otherwise it would latch onto your neck.

I recently switched to these after briefly having the Openrun Pro 2. (Which I sold back for the Soundcore Aerofit 2, great headset) And these are pretty decent if you fit a specific niche. And that niche is if you're very active and absolutely need something with near perfect water proofing while keeping your ears exposed and open to hear your environment. As well as these being a single unit that goes around your head, since individual open ear headphones can potentially fall off. (Like the Shokz Open air) However if you want something a bit more basic for walks and jogging, there's many more options. The Openswim Pro's are an extreme when it comes to water resistance, usage and price. That and the sound is about equal to what I had with their original Openrun headphones, the only improvements are the water resistance and vibration. (Which they just limited the volume to not go as loud) Only get these if water resistance and hearing your surroundings are an absolute must.

I did several tests and always switches between folders at 2nd and 3rd try. Unfortunately this is the only alternative solution since the OpenSwim Pro does not have a folder-switching function as indicated by customer service and confirmed in the user manual.”

Got to try this on my headphones today and it works! Bloody awesome :) You just have to remember which songs are in which folder! To shuffle between the normal/shuffle/repeat modes without using the phone press Volume+ and Multifunction button (on the side of the speaker) for 2 secs.

@@JakeOski So glad it helped! Also if you have trouble getting the songs to play in the same order as on your computer if you batch drag to the shokz, I found this on shokz site. It makes sense- usbs and other things rearrange it too do to how they work. This should allow you to have the songs in the order you want. If it doesn’t work, do stem 2 kind of in reverse ( ie at step “2)” Click to select the first file. Hold down the shift button on the keyboard and click to select the last file. At this time, 1~20 are all selected). Still scared to open mine and not sure what to do or if I should swap- feel horrendous as they were a gift. Just scared it may get tiresome sorting things Links I tried to put in were seen as spam so just search “int help shokz how to lost track order on openswim formerly x trainer” & “en help shokz Name how to list tracks order “ . Does it connect to a Garmin watch whilst swimming? Or do I need to download music MP3 style to the shoks?

You can connect it to Garmin no probs but as soon as your hand goes under the water the connection will break - Bluetooth doesn't penetrate water too well. Hence the mp3 mode.

I received these headphones the other day with 32 GB of memory. I liked the headphones themselves but not the mp3 player. I did not find in this player a file search function or a rewind function, just flipping through files one by one. The controls are the same in the smartphone app. It's unbearably long and boring. It's like an old cheap MP3 player. And why does such a player need 32 GB memory?

@ nah don't, it's just option to make playlists with mp3's. In the first version of Openswims we've had an option to switch between the folders which was taken away in the Pro's for some bizarre reason. Both sound very similar as there's only so much you can do with bone conduction tech. I've been using these since the release date (bikes, runs, skateboarding, kitesurfing) and they've done awesome. So don't get FOMO over small things :-)
@PaigeEscapes15 күн бұрын
@ gosh! Thank you!! So keep the shokz? They are still the best? I still can have folders but just not switch them in the mp3 mode? And I made a comment about folder switching- found it on reddit ☺️ Someone apparently fixed the folder issue…. “SOLUTION: How to Change Folders in Shozk OpenSwim Pro I solved the folder problem by switching to shuffle mode, then changing a couple of songs until I recognize the other folder, and then switch it back to normal mode to select previous and next songs from that other folder. I did several tests and always switches between folders at 2nd and 3rd try.
