He has one of the best connection to and interpretation of the music. I keep watching his Free Skate at the Olympics now. (P.S. Olympic Channel please upload his FS) As much as I love Yuzu and rooted for him to win the Olympics, I now appreciate Shoma better. He closed out the Olympic figure skating event perfectly and with much impact. And for those saying the “silver curse” I think this boy doesn’t care much for winning as much as Yuzuru does (it’s not a bad thing to be competitive). But I can see in Shoma a pure soul with so much talent who truly just enjoys skating. He has the “happy to be here and great if I can win” vibe which is more than what I can say for other silver medalists who are so entitled to winning gold. I’m rooting for you Shoma!

tbh u can tell shoma enjoys doing this and that he's doing it because he deeply loves it and that he cares less about being high scored and more about that he did what he wanted to do and that he wants to focus on doing art then get gold

Aishiteru Banzai!! Same here. My fav are WC 2018 and Skate America 2016 ones. Maybe because I watched too many times of them, so when he missed a beat or so here, I’m kinda sad lol but I read somewhere his skating boots already not in a good shape during/after his FS... maybe that’s why he skated a bit slower here and more conscious? Then, he had to change his skating boots right away to break in to prepare for World...which is kinda too late already at that point.

The Lightning Candles See You Again is my favorite exhibition that Shoma performed (then This Town comes next) because I was just really amazed at his musicality. Like his body itself is making a music. That I had no idea what is going on my surroundings.

Aishiteru Banzai!! In fact, it is See You Again Ex from Skate America 2016, that made me watch and follow his competitive career back to junior years. I just thought this version of “See You Again” is good but not as great as the one in WC2018 gala or SA2016 gala. It is still good and I still watch it though lol.

This performance was beautiful, it took so must effort and is so hard to achieve but it still seemedto flow smoothly with the music, letting us feel and understand what he felt. His love for skating and many other shade of feelings.
