Heck of an intro to this excellent duo. Seems I was into them as a kid, as my mom told me I sort of knew some of their songs. But this specific gem I never heard until I was an adult. Daryl Hall: light hair, high notes. John Oates: dark hair, low notes. These guys knew how to craft smooth pop.

Hall and Oates originally wrote this for the R&B group Tavares. Later they released their own cover. I always liked their version a hair better, and I think it became more popular. I wore white lines into my copy of this record (old folks who had vinyl understand...I played the song so much I literally started wearing the music out of the grooves)...and it was about what was happening in my life at the time.
