I happened to hear this song on the day my husband died, we had seen Michael Bolton live together. Now three years later I still feel the same way, my life was wrapped around my love, my knight in shining armor, and I miss him every day. We were together for 32 years; I still haven't found a life without him. It is like a knife in my heart when Michael sings, "How am I supposed to live without you, now that I have been loving you so long."

Have mercy, I can't believe I still remember the words from being in middle school when this came out. Have you done "How Do I Live" by LeAnn Rimes yet? I can't recall. It just makes me think of it because of similar titles and similar styles, the 90s power ballad, just from almost opposite ends of the decade!

Funny story from my childhood.... Him singing this on some show in the 80’s and my dad of few words walks in and says “Keep you pansies on Wilma” ..... I about died as a young girl and it likely changed me to never be Wilma. I try to love my man.
