You just heard one of the greatest lead guitarist in Rock history. His name is Rod Price, who unfortunately passed away in 2005. The singer/guitarist Lonesome Dave (another great guitarist) passed away in 2000. Today only the drummer is still with them, which really makes them a tribute band. The real FOGHAT is Lonesome Dave and Rod Price, as they were the dynamic duo.

This was on the movie soundtrack from "Dazed And Confused". Check that movie out, it's Hilarious" About 1976 highschool graduating class, the same year I graduated and very accurate. Lots of pot smoking and beer drinking and lots of great music in the movie from that time period. Matthew McConaughey made his movie debut in this movie as a stoner. The movies producer wanted him to actually smoke pot in one scene in a car he's driving. He and his buddies roll up to a car so he can hit on a girl. You'll see he was high as a kite. To hear him tell the story is Hilarious! Peace ❤

This song was inspired after one of Foghat's shows in Lafayette, Louisiana. They were leaving Lafayette headed east and took a stretch of road on the outskirts of the city called Verot School Road, which back then was a two-lane country road that linked Lafayette and Youngsville. Unknown to the tour bus driver, this road is notoriously always backed up with traffic. This forced the bus to toggle between a dead stop and a slow crawl for what seemed like hours, which infuriated all that were on the bus. The chorus was an ode to the attempt to regain composure. I lived in that area and became all too familiar with that road's unique claim to fame!

Just a 3 chord jam, but played with serious creatvity, power and slickness. On the part where it's just those " sliding vocals" and drums, I bet the studio guys probably used an echo and a delay, which can 'drag " voices like that. Glad u discovered this rock classic.I knew you'd enjoy!

Shon, this song was released in December 1975, when I was Junior in high school. At that time I was listening to NYC oldies station WCBS-FM, 101.1. At that time they only played songs from the ‘50’s and ‘60’s to early 1973, so I never heard this song until today.
