They have built their company from zero so their agency had to move TWICE because they needed more space. Mostly groups not from the big 3 (yg, jyp and sm) have no success but they have shown persistence and talent. Korea knows them mostly east Asia knows and loves them. Between the 3rd generation they are the 4th best selling girl group with over 700k albums and now they are under bighit so the agency of bts but for people with knowledge this isn't something new friend was always considered as the "sister group" of them because the ceos are close friends and have a lot of business together. So our friend is actually very known but many internationals don't know them which is very sad :(

Surprisingly Gfriend rose to fame mainly because of their dancing, they are known for sharp synchronization. Their vocals were like the cherry on top, but when you watch them perform the dance is really outstanding. There was a show called Weekly Idol where they danced to their choreo at 2X speed and absolutely killed it. On another show (Idol Room) they were all lined up behind each other and they danced in one line with so much precision that you can only see the person in front. Anyway, just saying their dance is mesmerizing - Me Gustas Tu dance practice and Rough 2X speed is a must, it's what got me into Gfriend after Yuju's insane vocals :)

When you kept rewinding to hear the high note I’m just like “noooo that’s not even the best one” hahaha in retrospect you weren’t ready for it. Also, Gfriend is underrated internationally but they’re actually quite popular in Korea. Their songs chart high and they sweep music show wins all the time. They’re probably a top 5 girl group over there, up there with Twice and Red Velvet. Which is impressive coming from a small company.

I love watching your guys reaction to the high notes. And they do have some solo songs, or like songs where they collab with different artist. Yuju has a few, same with Eunha. I think Umji, the makenae, has a bit, and SinB the main dancer has some. I don't know about the other two. But if you want high notes, definitely react to windy windy, and their immortal songs. Love and Remeber and Yeowooya is ones that I would recommend. Also their 2x times dances, random dance plays, rollercoaster dances, and 2x random dance plays are amazing.

Yuju has a great voice for R&B that shines best in covers. IMO, she's been able to develop her career better as a member of GFriend than she would have as a solo artist. But it would be great if she released an R&B mini-album. One showcase for the group's voices is the GFriend cover of g.o.d.'s "Love and Remember."
