I remember my this from school. Our teacher had us arrange our families according to the golding ratio and then take a photograph. Made the pictures look great!

"It just kinda makes sense" Not really. You didn't really find anything concrete in the paintings you used as an example.

i find this really interesting - its a number sequence found in nature too. im also interested in sacred geometry and mandalas, could you do a video on that aswell?

Cool Can this geometrical construct be stretched or squeezed? Is there a perfect golden ratio? What about other ratios and also what about this construct in relation to color. For example what colors draw the eye what colors recede. What intersections are the best and which ones for balance? Is there a key value pair, for balancing the painting ?

It makes it symmetrical😊 Golden ratio = symmetrical= balance They make pleasing lines for our eyes to follow Great video!

The Mona Lisa does use the Golden Ratio all over the painting! (More than what you pointed out.)

yuup the golden section rule. I read up on this. im just confused on how the golden section rule is different from the rule of thirds, because they do both focus on where the human eye pays most attention to no?

Interesting. I wonder if this is a pattern that our brain naturally seeks out in visual compositions.

i once dreamed that a teacher was telling me that the number (1+√5)/2 is the most important number,thing ,whatever in my life that number is the golden number and he was telling me that its very important to me to know that because i needed to know how to calculate some areas with some integrals(Integration),which i studied in high school i will never forget this number :)

Nice introduction. Many people don't know what a ratio is. Would be a good idea to divide two of the numbers, like 8 and 5, to show that they come out close to the Golden Mean number. However, don't be discouraged by comments from the math geeks. They don't understand that artists are not like them, that artists are usually instinctively applying mathematical ideas. Besides, most math geeks can hardly draw a second-grade stick figure : -)

I have always used 5/8 as the ratio. In designing clothes, I have used 5+8+5, with 8 being the center piece.

@runeskypex Hey, I have an idea...how bout you make a video all about an interesting maths equation, post it on your channel, and then we will all go over and comment on it? Your drumstick-spinning videos are AMAAAAZING, by the way! :P

Just to clarify the ratio between the numbers of the fibonacci sequence is not 1:1.618. The ratios between the numbers goes over and under 1:1.618 getting closer and closer to the ratio as the numbers get larger but never actually reaching it all the way to infinite. If you wanted to represent it in a drawing it would be like a wave going over and under a line until the wave becomes the line. I do like this video but it seems a little scatter brained.

Had I not squeezed my head together up to 3:30.. I know it would have exploded! WHAT??!! haha,,, I keep math(s) and art as far away from each other as possible!
@sherrillsturm72405 жыл бұрын
that is a mistake. proportion and position are very important in a composition. also, music is full of math.

Honestly, I don't think this is a good way to explain a "phenomenon". It just looks like you are seaching for ways to justify the "golden ratio" in all the pieces. I could justify a perfect triangle or circle or the shape of any letter or number by choosing points that suit my theory in any artwork. This, to me, is rubbish. I do think there is some significance to the ratio but not this video trying so hard to find examples of it in everything. Poor.

@runeskypex Comments like that are totally unneeded. You could use constructive criticism or at least be much kinder with your words. If you have nothing nice to say don't say anything at all. Really you need to take a step back and realize you're insulting someone through a computer. Very low my friend.
