I want to do this with my art students tomorrow! When I was in art school the Golden section was not emphasized as it should have been, especially since it occurs in all of nature and without applying it compositions are weak. The students are going to love this. Thank you for posting.

Fun video also. ;) Wanted to say also at the art and craft shop I work at, we call those little pin thingies, "Brads" is what they are titled on the products themselves. Never would have known myself though unless I was working at such a place haha. Thanks again for the video, look forward to seeing more!

At 4:00, the reason for that not to join is that you used the wrong length when drawing that parallel line. The length u took is from a straight perpendicular line, but u put that on an arc. Though it is a small portion of the arc, ie the curvature is low, it still set you off track.

We still do dissections in high school biology in Canada! We had to use (shudder) scissors though (scalpels are still used in Uni though). There's something infinitely more repulsing about cutting into something with scissors rather than a blade.

How do you determine the length of the middle articulating pointer, is it arbitrary or do you just make it even with the two longer pointers? Also Ran this in a CAD program and regardless of size, the distances from one point of the pentagram to the nearest point of the inner pentagon (either point obviously) is equal to the distance from either of those points to the furthest point on the pentagon. Point is... No need to use different points for the articulating pieces. Never mind, figured it out

When I was 12, I discovered drawing, and got taken away by images ever since. Like jacenprice said... The passion you show is really inspiring. I`m now about to get my degree in economics and would love to teach with such passion as you do. When I wen to "art" school, my teacher kept telling me that what I drew -although was made in the moment- was not product of my imagination, but from an idea. If all teachers were like you the hole learning process would be a reall journey, an adventure!!

How do you draw a Hexagram? How do you draw a Hexagram with inner and outer circles? How do you draw one Hexagram inside another Hexagram, .5cm distant, then 1cm distant? How do you draw multiple separated Hexagrams where they all have a common wall of the same thickness and with an exterior perimeter that is the same thickness as the common walls? Can I do all of this with just a compass and a ruler?
@donation19139 жыл бұрын
+Shoo Rayner I haven't been successful at drawing the last two questions, that is why I reached out. I can draw individual Hexagrams with a compass just fine, combining them into a pattern has been my stumbling block. Like drawing 6 Hexagrams around a central Hexagram with a uniform space between all of them. My reason for wanting to learn how to draw them, I am poor and I want to build my own Cob House, this design is modular, scaling well as your needs grow.

Hey Shoo, do you realize how rare it is for today's "humans" to actually be able to make anything, and be able to teach others. They only know how to criticize and destroy, hence are experts on making an ass of themselves. Your video was very entertaining and informative. My question is: is the ratio a secret or did you just forget the number? Real question: how does this information relate to the tree of the knowledge of good and evil?

what are the measurements please
@raz999.97 жыл бұрын
TOMMYBENICE66 the long ones should be 34cm. the shorter ones, one is 13cm and the other is 21cm. You should be careful where to connect the shorter ones. This is extremely important. Short pieces should be connected at 13cm from the tip of the each 34cm pieces. Then connect the 13cm piece to the 21cm piece at 13 cm away from the 21cm piece tip.
