I absolutely love this video for it not having talking heads, GoPro videos from the walks, but pure and distilled art of photography. Great images, great colours and great video. Thanks!

Great shots Gary. I found it to be very much as you did when I was out there. It's also very true that it never sleeps as well. Walking back to my hotel from a gig at 2.00am the place was buzzing. Hope your are enjoying your holiday and looking forward to those other presets. 😀

I was born raised in Brooklyn, one of the five boroughs of the City of New York. When we say New York we mean Manhattan. To New Yorker’s we say “The City”. I’ve never done street photography outside the US. There is an energy that is palpable in the city. One thing that make NYC relatively easy to shoot street photography is obvious. There are a lot of people on the street. In Seattle, where I live now, there are very few people downtown after Covid. I’m forced to spend more time than I want at the Pike Street Market because there are frequently a lot of tourists there. New Yorkers seem to be very goal oriented. When walking on the street it is easy to photograph them because they are going somewhere. Work, to eat, meet someone, who knows what? They may see you take their photo but don’t have the time to confront you. People aren’t paying that much to their surroundings when they walk the streets. They are more aware when they are riding the train. Once you get off the train they again are easy to photograph. God I miss New York. I’m returning for my annual pilgrimage in five weeks. One of my favorite events is the San Gennaro festival in little Italy. Eight blocks are full of people. Mostly on the 1st Saturday of the festival. It is amazing how many people jam onto those narrow n streets. It is like shooting ducks in a pond. Want to attend your Dare workshop in October. You are, after all, meeting me 1/2 way from where you live. The thing is I’d be on a plane longer than I’d spend time with you. I’m trying to find something, in addition to you, to do in order to justify a single day with you as valuable as that would be. Until then I will steal candid portraits of people. I occasionally ask people for their permission to make their portraits. I’m not good at posing subjects. I also don’t have a cheerful personality I can put on and banter like you do. There is much for me to learn. Probably not this October. PS: I used to live in Coney Island. During the summer, especially the weekend, the place is hopping. September or October? Dead as a door nail. You may like it. I want more people I can photograph. Dead streets? I have that in spades in downtown Seattle. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)

@@martingreenberg870 I’ve shot Coney Island. to be fair I find London a lot more diverse and unpredictable than New York. I’ve shot Manhattan and Brooklyn several times. I agree it isn’t overly challenging. London is more unpredictable.

Manhattan can suck it. All these Europeans have no clue what the Real NYC is like.

@@knightsorder thank you. I’m not sure what you mean by true colour? Any digital file isn’t true colour it’s raw data and has to be edited. It isn’t film.
