Hi Rick, been following your videos for quite a while just never made a comment before. Early in this video you made a reference to 50 caliber machine gun‘s. I was a twin 50 caliber machine gunner on PBR River patrol boats in Vietnam hadn’t heard anybody even mention them in many many years. Sounds like you might’ve had a little experience with them. Might win 50 said 500 rounds each in the tray of the barrel that boat definitely keep your heads down LOLWell there hasn’t been anything to do with their guns just thought I’d mention it really enjoy your videos bro thanks

Rick, thanks for yet more good information! I thoroughly enjoy watching all your content. It's succinct and to-the-point. I always learn at least a little something from your vids. So here's a request for an opinion. I'm going to break into PCP's with the Umarex Origin .22cal bundle, with all intent to build upwards. My query is, if you were buying your second PCP, and the field is down to the .25 Avenger or the gauntlet 2, what's your pick? Anybody else with input, shout it out! I've just recently bought that exact gun, about every fifty to a hundred shots, the groups are getting a little smaller. I'm kind of wondering if that barrel wasn't completely broken in when you did this review. I've got somewhere around 4 to 500 shots on it, I still feel my groups are going to tighten up.

Hay Rick great shooting. So Crosman's new in house barrel is pretty accurate as you have proven. You stated in one of your comments you where going to shoot the Walther barrel in the future! I did see the .177 review. Have you had a chance to shoot the Walther barrel in .22? I know you like the wood grain rifles (they are pretty) but for hunting what do you think of the synthetic stocks lighter weight? If you were buying a new Marauder rifle in .22 caliber and wanted best accuracy, Would you buy the new Crosman barrel model or spend the extra $61 dollars for the Lothar Walther match barrel.

Thanks for the review Rick. I am new to the PCP world and your reviews of this gun and the Field and Target, just sold me on this gun and scope. After months of deliberation on caliber, I ordered one from the custom shop set up just like this one. I am going to take your recommendation and try out the Crosman LR412FFPS1 Spectrum FFP, 4-12x44mm. If you dont mind me asking, what rings and height do you use. I know its a 1 in tube, but want it as low as I can go without impeding the magazine or barrel clearance.

So how do you think this LW barrel rates against the new Crosman standard barrel field target made in NY? Seems accuracy is VERY close between the two.

David Aguiar Crosman 22 barrel likes 14.3 ultra mag but not much else ,And to be clear what I mean is it will shoot a 3/8 group at 55 yards 5 shots with the ultra mag. The LW 177 barrel likes a ton of pellets Especially the Crossman 7.9 and the JSB 8.4 and 10.34

Just bought this. First one I received the action jammed every third shot with crosman piranha (its all I had). Just got second one on warranty and neither the barrel or the air chamber was threaded all of the way down. The barrel also touches against air chamber where its suppose to float. Even though the barrel is floating it shouldnt be bent so far that its touching against the air chamber should it?

Thanks for the review. I just ordered the Custom Shop .177 with regulator and LW barrel. Very excited to get and test it. Do you have any concerns running the harder Crosman pellets through a LW barrel? It seems that manufacturers like Daystate recommend the JSB’s through their Walther barreled rifles. Just wondering if you’ve heard anything about that. Thanks.

Thank you for the video. I just received my kit a few days ago with the Walther and am enjoying it like crazy. This is my first PCP so you can imagine the culture shock I'm experiencing after shooting nothing but springers for years lol. But I have just one question if you dont mind? Long story short......... I order my first kit with the crosman barrel and it turned out to be a lemon. First, the Gen 1 compressor made a popping sound after only one use and stopped working. Then the rifle failed where I could not load any pellets into the breech for some reason. I had to load them by hand one at a time. Then when I shot them the pellet flew completely off target and I'm lucky I didn't hit my neighbor who just loand me his mower the other day lol. I returned it for a replacment with the upgraded barrel. Now for my question..how can tell if I really do have a watlther barrel instead of the standard crosman? They both look exactly the same and have no markings on them. I could have a crosman barrel and not even know it. Thank you again for the great video.

Well a good indicator is the standard barrel loves Crosman 14.3 and the Walther doesn’t . I have both . I’m not saying this is a set standard But with my guns it is true

As always good shooting! I was looking at a Benjamin Marauder in 25 Cal. I had heard that the Crosman barrels weren't is accurate though. I see on your Channel that must have not been the right pellet combo. Or maybe shooter errors but I live in PA. I want a budget-friendly yet powerful 25 Cal for hunting animals 40 pounds and under. Pinpoint accuracy is important though and the 25 Cal Umarex gauntlet is one I'm considering also but we're all still waiting on that one LOL. Any experience with the 25 cal marauder? Regulated vs unregulated? Id like to keep it around $500 thanks!

Another good review as always.It would be nice if Crosman would send you a .22 with the Walther Barrel, to compare with the Field & Target with their barrel. The good shooting was nice,but what amazed me is you could even load those tiny pellets,with your big fingers the .22 isn't bad . I'm glad you enjoyed the weather while it lasted,the dreaded wind and rain came back.I shot a lot on Fri. and Sat.a little windy but,it's always breezy along the River here.

I know this, it won’t be better than the Crosman barrel for accuracy, but it might be a little more pellet friendly . Crosman barrel really likes Premier Ultra Mags 14.3 . But it doesn’t like other pellets . I will see what I can do

Not true in my case.My field and target Mrod with crosman barrel absolutely does not like Crosman ammo at all.My unregulated .22 synrod likes Crosman ammo.But this regulated Mrod with crosman barrel is straight up Air Arms 16 grain all the way.I was really hoping the field and target liked crosman ammo,but it does not and i can't understand why.Both your video,Rick,and then Steve from aEAC 's regulated Marauder really liked Crosman ammo.My unregulated .22synrod's favorite pellets are ultramags and CPHP.

Michael Procenzano I have a .177 Mrod non Regulated that shoots awesome also . But you get more shots with the reg This gun can get 1/2 groups @50 that’s pretty good . It was built for field target .

Also people should realize Walther makes awesome barrels, but they have different levels of barrels they sell so who knows which one benjamin is using? If you are getting a Marauder for the 1st time this is a great deal with the shot count up.

Seemed to me the slighter larger grouping pellets were also the lightest...wich probably had some overspeed(900+ ft/s) and there for get easely destabelised in flight,all in all,some pretty amazing shooting skills there buddy... oh,and a fantastic rifle like that Always helps ofcourse ;-)

I think the problem is loading the first shot from the mag. The lighter pellets have a more delicate skirt. The first pellet might not be exactly straight when loaded so it deforms the skirt.

This will sound crazy to some of y’all. But some guns will throw a flyer when you change pellets. Some require a few shots to group again, it’s the difference in the alloy used to make the pellets and the way it changes the fouling in the bore. Tom Gaylord documented this in his blog Anyway, I just noticed most of the fliers come on the first shots. Reminds me of this.
