Accuracy testing the new JTS airguns dead centre take down pellets.
they are made in china and share some similarities with the QYS. the design is quite unique and different to anything ive seen before? are they any good or is it all just hype?
I use the air arms xti50 which has a high spec lothar walther barrel and also use the airmaks katran which uses a CZ barrel. i test in both the magazine and single shot configuration. the results are quite surprising and the longer range performance in light wind has to be seen to be believed.
ive also just received my new scope the falcon s40i ffp monster. the xti will shortly be getting an overhaul and this new scope might well replace the mighty arken ep5 that i have been using for the last year

When they first hit the market, they were priced well below JSB and H&N pellets, making them a budget-friendly option. The price likely rose due to their growing popularity. I used to shoot the 18gr .22s in my HW100, and they were incredibly accurate. They’re produced in-house by JTS, not by QYS or any other manufacturer. Great review-really enjoyed it!

Hi Mr Tilly, a better title would have been "A new low in expensive pellet design". The look on your face as you were trying to gently load a pint sized pellet into a half pint barrel was priceless! The general rule(s) that every gun has it's pellet or the pellet choses the gun is busted now, let's call it "Tillys Law"- Some pellets are terrible, whatever their price in any gun. I've been testing (RWS) Geco, lead free flatties in my Airacuda Max .177, cheaper than chips and not too shabby for pest control (range tested) but in the field testing with card targets? If you snag a rock with one the ricochet zzzzzzzzzzzzing is embarrassingly terrifying! And a compliment and suggestion; So you buy a tin of pellets and test fire them which is what your average airgunner does, you give us straight out of the can findings, bravo on the testing honesty. Could I suggest that you go to a "I'll go and weigh/measure the rest of this can" cut to find out why they are so good/bad after you have done your 20m test to give us a why so good/bad before extending the range. If this stuff was easy it would be boring, thank you and keep on doing your thing

Good shooting Sir. I use a Weirauch HW98S with JSB .22 5.52 mm Exact Jumbo Diablo and they are tack drivers at 25 Metres. I weigh and size every pellet with a 5.52mm Pellet sizer then place them in soft foam holders inside tins. Ime from a farming background and also a UK Veteran so when i am shooting i make sure my pellets are as good as they can be. Every bore of every rifle is different so its a matter of finding the correct ones for your barrel and then purchase as many tins or sleeves as you can with the same batch number. If you wish to achieve the accuracy you expect then you need to weigh and size every pellet first 🙏

Definitely need to be careful sizing down the biggest pellets and these are unusually large. Trying to size these down concentrically would probably be almost impossible. One of them wouldn't even fit the head measuring gauge ☹️ A gentle size down though for a soft jsb can definitely reap rewards in some barrels 100% 😉

The size variation explains this pellets bad performance. Perhaps the Chinese manufacturer is using a worn-out press, or running the machine faster than it was designed for. Morning TG. Great video, just not the best of results! How are they achieving the longer reduced centre section, is it at the expense of the head or skirt, or is the pellet longer than others overall? Maybe they had 5 different presses going and mixed and matched filling the tins. 😃😃
@tillysgunstocks
@tillysgunstocks Күн бұрын
Hi mate, compared to an exact the mid section is at expense of the skirts flare. They are a little longer overall than a jsb heavy too. They look well formed ,clean and no damaged skirts .weight wise they are good but they're just too large. One would barely fit in the head measure. They are getting deformed on loading and the skirts smeared off the back. It's weird there's no batch codes either 🤔

I've been using these for 2-3 weeks in my Redwolf and found them 'ok' - mostly in still conditions. I agree that they are noticeably inconsistent when loading. However, I tried a few in my HW44 pistol and it doesn't seem to like them at all - probably due to the lower power and pellets being tight to load. Interestingly, the first tin I had was really good. Subsequent tins not so good.

Those cuts in the pellets are far too deep, I recon its affecting the stability of the pellet whilst spinning, try " sizing " them down, preferably in increments, apart from that, I was expecting excellence straight out the tin, fantastic testing, there's 1000's relying on you with this one, don't mind paying £17 a tin, even if it means doing a little alteration ( sizing ) to get top notch accuracy.. I know you shouldn't have to do it, but if used for competition it would be worth it...

I'll do a vid in the future mate about sizing. I'll keep some of these for the vid as trying to size these down even incrementally is alot harder to do whilst maintaining concentricity. The rim of the head will vary hugely between them(once sized) on account of the massive variation of starting sizes . That can often cause bigger FPS spreads than is ideal. I'll go through it when I get chance but the key thing is always to start with the most consistent batches and then work them Into something useful.😀
