Im a old man lots of trigger time. Love um all this modern 6.5 is hard to beat. My fave for smackin stuff way out is always 300 Winchester. For closer stuff 6mm ppc is very good. My all time favourite 222 Remington.

I like the 243! It's been around since 1955.

My only gripe with .243 is that factory rifles have a twist too slow to run the heavy match bullets. If they started standardizing on 8tw instead of 9tw, the 6 creed basically dies. As it is now, though, the 6 creed has the standard 8 twist and will run the 110s and 115s.

@@treece1 you should be fine. I know some of the 115 shooters are using 7.5 twist to get a bit more stability.

I think if your goal is to solely shoot competition....choose a 6mm cartridge. If you're shooting competition and planning to hunt with the same setup....shoot a 6.5mm or 7mm with a better brake and heavier setup. My personal favorite is 260 Remington with a 130gr bullet.

Mountain Man, agreed, Sir. If I had to keep one rifle it would be my 7mm-08. Like the 260 it does everything great.

6.5 creedmores impressed me big time but my fav caliber is 17hmr for farm work its just unreal and rounds are quite cheap like 20 for 15. 20grain cci and proper hornaday ones are 19 pounds forb25 bricks i was gettimg the xci loose fuck that is the little round that could i want a colt m1911 in 17hmr

The 6-dasher hands down I’ve seen it first hand

6mm holds most of the records out to 1000yds. I witnessed Mike Wilson set the 1000 yd benchrest record with a 6mm in 2019 and i was 2 benches over from Jeff Godfrey when he broke the 4 target ag world record with a 6mm. 6mm is the sh*t.

I have a 6 mm. It's a 700 Remington bolt-action it was made in 1965 and their custom shop has a 26-inch Barrel on it the wind just does not seem to bother it seems to be a really good caliber om
@seanbrown79544 жыл бұрын
@@terryfarrell6377 when you hear people talking about 6mm its usually a 6mmbr or a bra or a dasher. You got the old school .244 Remington which is almost identical to a modern 6mm norma br.

It's that time back on target. Recoil destroys speed.

We're going to come full circle and it'll be 30-06 from a 1903

Wouldn't the 224 Valkyrie be a good option? It's 1000 meter capable and recoil is very soft. I know it's not a typical bolt gun round but it's nothing that's imposable. Savage has bolt's that are 6.8 SPC sized.

Its not, it drops to sub sonic at 700 no matter how hard I over charge it with a 75gr eld-m
